Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Grand Canyon University is the worst thing to happen to the for-profits in history. Their CEO Brian Mueller that they bought from Apollo Group inherited a grab-bag of mediocre-talent managers and assistant directors with zero to no educational experience at all after nearly failing our of business school from partying too much. Ben Williams along with his cavalcade of loser, has-been managers that are stuck in their positions (some of them for 7-10 years) get on the phones to bring their angry, strong-arming sales tactics to the poor and unsuspecting southeastern United States.

Admissions personnel are just this side of slave labor as they are mandated to sell a certain number of applicants per month and accumulative 6 month period or they will be terminated suddenly for made-up and completely unrelated circumstances so that they can comply with the Department Of Education. Admissions personnel are not allowed to apply for higher positions within the organization (without eventual termination on unrelated circumstances) but are absolutely MANDATED to produce 80-100 outbound dials a day along with at least 8 new students a month. If you do not meet these unacceptable (to the DOE) expectations, you are terminated for unrelated circumstances.

This institution, under the guidance of their CEO Brian Mueller, had the bright idea that they would begin what they call Full Time Online Faculty positions in which the online instructors (who are already sparsely available) have office hours during the late afternoon and evening. A brilliant idea IF the positions were staffed with instructors with teaching degrees or instructors that have spent time in the admissions industry or even their own admission department. However, because this institution refuses to hire within the admissions department for these positions, the talent that they are recruiting for Full-Time-Online-Faculty can be best described as MEDIOCRE AT BEST.

In summation, this institution has made some brilliant business decisions but because of their shady admissions techniques in skirting the mandates set in place by DOE watchdogs, they continue to shoot themselves in the feet and will continue to be a million dollar player on the stock market..never a billion dollar one.
