Dear Latest Victims of Grand Canyon "Christian" University Online~

I wish you had already come to this website before getting involved with Grand Canyon University.

I taught for five years for Grand Canyon University from 2005 - 2010 and was one of their best online instructors.  I was diligent, timely, competent, and I cared deeply for my students.  Then in 2009, Grand Canyon University was sued by the Department of Education for fraud.  In an out of court settlement, Grand Canyon "Christian" University paid more than $5 million to the Department of Education to make the fraud claim go away.  It was during this time period that good professors like me were fired because we were passing out real grades to students rather than just passing anybody with a bogus "A."

I was told after five years of successful employment with GCU that I was being let go because of my online "tone" and that I had not posted my phone number in the right place.

Grand Canyon University, I predict, won't be around much longer because of unscrupulous practices like this that continue.  To pass out degrees, like water, to the most incompetent students and allow them to be credentialed, for example, as nurses and teachers, is despicable.  Would you want a Grand Canyon graduate to be the nurse at your bedside?  Would you want a Grand Canyon graduate who can't even compose proper English to be teaching your child?

I am sorry to hear that you wasted your money and time at Grand Canyon "Christian" University.
By the way, I now work for three other online universities that have ethnics and integrity.  I am very pleased with my new employment and the students are a lot happier as well.  When I grade a student's paper and include constructive feedback, it is appreciated by all -- including my supervisors.

Apparently, someone from the public relations department of GCU was told to write this article regarding the alleged "wonderful" education he allegedly received at GCU.  First off, no happy graduate of GCU is looking on the internet under "Rip Off" reports in the first place to even find such an article.  Second, there are at least 133 scathing reports to the Better Business Bureau regarding Grand Canyon University.  Check it out:  http://www.dltruth.com/thread-1293.html   Third, the alleged "happy" GCU graduate failed to mention that GCU (aka Grand Canyon University) was sued by the Department of Education for fraud and paid the DOE $5.2 million to settle.  Check it out:  http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/2010/08/18/20100818biz-grandcanyon0819.html

Fourth, the article is too well written to have been composed by a GCU graduate.  Check out the multitude of rip off reports composed by disgruntled GCU students on this rip off website and compare their discombobulated writing styles compared with this PR writer.  :)

It sounds like the former professor who wrote the negative "I told you so" remark is a bit bitter about being let go. Like all stories there are 2 sides and I am sure that his side is pretty exaggerated.
I graduated GCU and having a bitter, former employee insinuate that my education is a sham is quite offensive. Although I did not get a 4.0 GPA, the 3.5 GPA I got was earned and not given to me as he states. I attended the University of California Riverside(UCR) for 2 years and due to family and professional obligations I could not finish my degree there. I chose GCU after looking at a number of educational institutions.
I was never given an "A" as he states, I had to work hard for my grades and some of the classes were more difficult than those I had at UCR.
I can understand complaining if you feel you were wronged, but to make light of my accomplishments and all of the other GCU graduates accomplishments due to your ill feelings is wrong.
