I am glad to see someone with some legal experience get after GCU. I was a recent employee at GCU and can confirm that enrollment counselors will persist to get you into a seat, but afterwards good luck. While there are some that truly try and do the right thing, upper managements pressure to hit numbers is slowly driving them out of GCU. I wanted to share a bit of information to hopefully help you out. 1) I am not saying that you were not told you would get a refund after 10 days, but the actual rule/law is 14 days. 2) If you want to withdrawl from GCU, don't just call in, you will get blown off. A lot of people need your application to hit certain goals for that semester start. I would also send emails to as many GCU people as you have email addresses for and tell them you are withdrawing. This way you at least have some written documentation that you requested to be withdrawn. 3) The other thing I would do is ask for a copy of the recording of your conversation with everyone. Yes, even though they don't tell students (unless they recently started), that their phone calls are recorded. Being a paralegal I am sure of your rights in obtaining a copy of a recorded conversation. I am not sure if your issues have been resolved, I know that it has been a couple of weeks since your posting, but I hope that others will see this and be able to get the help they need to resolve their own issues. Unfortunately, GCU needs to be pressured to resolve issues the majority of the time and the more people stand up maybe some day that may change. If you need any other help or advice please let me know.
