I called to notify GCU that I was going to transfer to Florida Atlantic University, the person I talked to took all the information. Then transferred me to another person I told her the same information, she informed me I would still have to pay for my courses I told her I inteded to complete the courses the transfer was to be done at the end of the semester. she said that the first girl I talked to had already filled out a ticket but she would go pull it and there would be no problem.

Two days ago I tried to go online to check on the status of the final paper in one of my classes and next to last papers in the other class. I did not find those two classes on my home page. When I called to find out why they told me I had been withdrawn. I told them that was wrong I was not to be withdrawn untill the end on the semester, I spoke to a guy named Kevin. He told me sorry there is nothing he nor I can do about it. So I am going to get a "W" in two classes that I have all but completed.

The worst part is I am on disablity and am a 49 year old single woman, I recieved financial aide for college, I must be a fultime student to recieve the financial aide. Not getting credit for the two classes may make me inelligable for the aide when I try to register for classes at FAU. I may be required to repay the cost of four classes and books on a monthly income of less than $800.00. After living expences that will be impossible.

This sounds like what I went through with them. Not to mention I found out that often the people who I talked to on the phone weren't actaul employees because they outsourced to a company that wasn't in the US. So many times I called I got people who barely spoke English and didn't seem to understand it either. I got out of there as soon as possible and am going to a really good school now. I don't think that what they did should effect the financial aid at the next school. I'm not even sure that the Grand Canyon we were using was the real Grand Canyon because according to Penn State there is a Grand Canyon College but not a Grand Canyon University. I don't know if they just grew or are a sound alike diploma mill. I got a very good grade in a course I did nothing in, however there was a course I really worked hard in that they claimed I never submitted anything.
