Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I started Grand Canyon University a little over 3 years ago which I have had multiple financial aide advisors. Just recently I decided to inquire if I had enough financial aide monies to finish getting my bachelors degree in business. Well to my dismay my financial aide advisor informed me that I will run out of finances soon, which will not allow me to graduate next year. No one ever said to me on admission or during this educational process that I would not have enough funds to complete the 4 years until now, and that was because I asked due to another financial aide problem that I had with the school. I asked my so called adbvisor, "why didn't anyone tell me this before??? and why did I have to inquire about the information that my advisor was completely clueless to the information. How can an institution take YOUR money that you have to repay back to the dept. of educatiion and whoever else you received funds from, without informing you that you do not have enough financial aide to cover the four years to get an under graduate degree until after they have exhausted what you have in financial aide? No one at the school informed me of this until I asked this week. I could have opted at the beginning to choose another school with more affordable tuition so that I could have gotten my degree but now, I will not have enough to finish but yet I still will owe the moneys that will be due in the near future. I have had multiple errors made by the financial aide department due to their so called advisors who seem to be completely clueless not only to this issue but other financial issues that they are supposed to be trained and knowledgeable in to assist the educational process of the student. In actuality, they need the numbers and your money obviously, without regard to what the student actually needs.... an education with informed information. This Christian institution lacks in many ways and needs much improvement but to take finances from a person without informing them that they may not have the funding to complete the educational process is not only careless but stealing when they have the responsibility of informing you of your situatuion. I have never attendd a school who lacks this type of morality, and would degrade themselves to common theft. Now, I am up a creek without a paddle and all they can do is say I'm sorry. Yeah, sorry you received all my financial aide money while I walk away without a degree. Thanks Grand Canyon for all your help and a great education. NOT!!!!

How exactly did you run out of Financial Aid? That means to be truthful you reached your aggregate limit. It is not the schools fault; it is your responsibility to check the NSLDS website as a loan borrower to track your limits. The aggregate limit for an undergraduate degree is $65,000, this along with the PELL Grant of $5000 (for up to 6 years). Therefore, you are telling us that between the PELL and the Loans you spent over $80,000 for your uncompleted undergraduate degree. Seriously, and what did you do with the stipend amounts that were sent to you from the excess, did you save them or spend them on non-educational items? Try pointing your finger at yourself, many students are able to complete their degree at Grand Canyon University with less than that amount. Your spiteful words are nothing more than buyer’s remorse at your own poor financial management of your educational funds. Please remove your false and degrading posting or you might actually be facing legal recourse for your inflammatory and false allegations about GCU and their practices regarding use of Financial Aid.
