We called Plumbing 911 to check for a possible leak of gas coming from our gas fryers. The company came out by 10 am and found that one of our gas hoses was cracked. This diagnosis was made by approximately 10:10. They disconnected the hose and stated they will probably have to order the part. We informed them that we've replaced the hose before and let them know where to go and pick it up from. The company is about 15 miles from our restaurant. It took the technicians over an hour and a half just to go and buy the hose. They arrived back at our restaurant around 11:45 am and it took them less than 10 minutes to install the new gas hose. We asked them to relight the fryer and they said they didn't know how???? They brought us an invoice of $850!!! It completely blew our caps off! The hose costs $182 tops and they performed less than 30 minutes of labor time. The invoice did not give a break down of charges, and the technician stated that's what the office told him to charge?? What?!? I called the office and spoke to Belinda who couldn't explain the charges, either. She just stated that they don't charge by the offer, but by the job. I argued that the job was minimal and the part only $200 bucks! She said well, there is a mark up on the part because we can't charge you what we pay. Understood, but that's a hell of a mark up. I asked for a supervisor and she said he will call me back. I waited two days and called back, Belinda informed me that she spoke to the supervisor and that's the charge that they're sticking with. I would not recommend this company and I will never use them again.
