This might help you a bit. You should be receiving notices from GreenTree that your account is past due. These notices are coming from what is considered your "local" branch. Call that number and insist in talking with the Branch Manager. These individuals are usually a little bit more understanding and helpful. We have gone through the same thing as you are going through, just under different circumstances. The biggest problem with them is that their collectors do not update the information that you give them. Depending on what state you live in it maybe totally illegal for them to reposs if you are only 30 days behind. Here in VA you must be 90 days behind. We have had to "remind" them of this law many a time. Talk to the branch manager, calmly and with respect. We did this and got great headway with our situation and got the phone calls dropped to a few a day and now we tell them to check with the branch manager Mr. XXX and they then are not nasty. Try that approach and see if that helps at all. The next step is to report them to the FTC. They are not a Federally insured bank so no one else can help. Try the Branch manager first. Another victim
