To my fellow consumers,

As of last week I decided to buy a GreenDot premier card thinking I could do wonders with it, but it isn't a good thing it is a nightmare. I put 500 dollars on the card for a trip I was taking. I bought a few things and when I went to check into my hotel I had 257 dollars left. My hotel bill was 220, and I did not realize they were authorized another 30 dollars for assurance deposit. I wadn't mad because I was suppose to get the money back when I checked out. I still had 7.52 left over so I bought a couple of pops leaving me with 3.04. On Tuesday the 16th of October after talking with the hotel I got a text saying I had 27.57 in my account so I went to the Atm to withdraw 25 dollars but it declined my card. I called the company and asked them why the full 30 dollars wasn't returned to my account and where was the 8 dollars I was also suppose to get, they started rattling off my purchases, I already had accounted for those purchases and I was still short, so I ask to speak with a manager but they refused to let me speak to one. Today I magically got 4 dollars put on my card but I am still 10 dollars short of the money owed to me. This has been a nightmare since I went in and bought the card, first I pay a hefty enrollment, and what this premier stuff is I don't know, then I payed for rush delivery and I don't get it until 5 days later, and now all this hassel to get back the money that was suppose to be returned to my account. If anyone reads this PLEASE BEWARE this card is a SCAM and they take money from you that you do not authorize.

Green Dot stinks

The "fine print" is just a fancy way of saying "where we tell you how we're going to scam you." Just because it's contained in a contract doesn't make it ethical. I purchased and used one of these stupid cards at one point. There are so many better options out there that I don't see Green Dot being around much longer.

Greendot Premier... read the fine print

#3Consumer Suggestion

Mon, November 19, 2007

I am and have been a customer of Greendot Premier now for the past 3 years and have come across some of the same problems thinking that they had ripped my money from my account. It was not until I actually read the "fine print" in my initial contract that cleared these issues up for me. Suggestion: Read the "fine print" before making accusations as I have in the past. The initial contracts of these things were put into play for a reason. Good Luck, Dwagray, Georgia
