SHORTY! It seems to me that GT has some serious issuse! Starting with the fact if GT was a great co, they wouldn't have alot of complaints." WHO GIVES A RATS BEHIND"how they were listed in the Wallsteet Journal,so was Enron!look what hapened there. there are to many complaints to be ignored! Also I have read from other EX Employees if your quota is low because your not nasty they will fire you! Of Course they preach don't be nasty, and don't break the rules. But look the other way when the rules are broken if your making GT! By the way i worked for a company in their collections department i know how it works!

Hey Brian, you were fired, live with it, deal with it and just go away. Whoever you think is giving you inside information, you are wrong.

Green Tree response

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

In response to BRIAN from Indianapolis. I too used to work for Green Tree & w/Brian. To say the least, he is a disgruntled employee who did not leave on his own accord. I wouldn't take anything he has to say as anything other then the rants of a bad collector and ex-employee. Maybe he knows how to go about complaining b/c he was one of the collectors repremanded for FDCPA violations??? As for Green Tree, they do have very strict standards for collecting at a high level. Most employees adhear the the FDCPA, but there are a few shops and employees that may push the line. Green Tree has spent a lot of money on monitoring employees to weed out the bad ones and to train everyone properly. (It is legal to call several times a day as long as they do not leave multiple messages & don't actually talk to anyone) The Indiana/Ohio regions are always willing to work with you if you communicate. On the flip side if you ignore calls or collection efforts, what option do you leave them? If you have serious financial difficulty Green Tree will try to help, just be honest & upfront. FYI - Green Tree is listed in the Wall Street journal, here is what they say - (Green Tree is the premier servicer in the industry)

We live in Mesa Az, have been with Green Tree, then Conseco and then again Green Tree for 10 years. I have had trouble with Greentree lately and every call I make gets spit out to the Tempe office either because the phone number I call from or once I enter my account number it is recognized. I talk to the same people in the same office. I have been screamed at, told they will refuse my payment I sent in the mail - that I had to pay by phone NOW- and even threatened with taking my home....telling me they were demanding the full payment since I would not co-operate (which isn't mailing my payment co-operating!)..."Good Luck Paying the entire balance off!" I was told. All of this because I was late not even 30 days and the payment had been sent in the mail. According to them mailing the payment was not SUFFICIENT! When I called the direct Corporate line I got transfered to the Tempe office and when I called back NO ONE WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE! How suspicious is that!!??? Finally I e-mailed my complaint. I was given a letter stating they would not contact us by phone and appologized. Guess what....they came to our door!!!! Then they called. Then the harassment started. It wasn't until my husband payed by phone and put a stop payment on the mailed check that things settled down. UNTIL they attempted to cash the check we stopped payment on. Something he was guaranteed would not happen. Now we get a letter on that! Then another letter arrived regarding my e-mail complaints, appologizing but telling me being late with the payment is the problem. I was not denying I was late, I was complaining about harassment and threatening tactics! Now what? If these threatening people show up at our door who knows what they will do. Do I need to get a restraining order? How desperate of a company are they to use tactics like this? makes you wonder about your safety. Sounds like ORGANIZED CRIME to me!

Cease and Desist Letter

As I understand it the original creditor is allowed to call you at home. But, there are only certain hours in which they can call you. It seems to me that you are getting collection calls from a call center where your number is automatically dialed. They have no right to threaten you however. (Those are scare tactics plain and simple.) They certainly have no right to call your husband at work. Simply write them a cease and desist letter as far as calling your husband at work. Keep a copy for your records. If they don't honor your cease and desist letter, then I would definitely report them as in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I too have a house financed with Greentree and I got behind in my payments due to a medical emergency. I worked with a woman in the Minneapolis office who was very helpful to me. We got everything handled, and I am now current in my payments again. I wish you the very best.

You can sue the collector personally!!!!!!!!

Cathrina I worked in the office out of carmel. Did you know you have the right to personally sue the collector and the company. Ask for the collectors name and the compliance dept.# that will get their attention. The collection Manager there is worthless and has issues of his own. The automatic dialers at greentree are set to only call 5 times a day unfortunatly the carmel office does have these dialers well at least when I was there......they didnt. The system there l=does log all the calls and the collector does have to put some entry in for a result. Take a drive up to the office its at 116 and meridian, the building on the southeast corner in carmel 11595 s penn suite 310..... but watch out for the little short manager.

GREENTREE A CERTIFIED LETTER REQUESTING THEY DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER

#9Consumer Comment

Thu, September 29, 2005

Where do you request this becasue I am sure Greentree is not going to be very cooperative in giving me this letter. Is there a different letter that I can write up or get from the internet without having to go throught Greentree or does it have to be a "Greentree Certified Letter".

Record Everything 3

#10UPDATE Employee

Well to start, look up FDCPA. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Buy a tape recorder. They are not allowed to call before 8a YOUR TIME, not their time. They are not allowed to call past 9p YOUR TIME, not their time. They cannot harrass you. They cannot call your husbands job IF YOU SEND GREENTREE A CERTIFIED LETTER REQUESTING THEY DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER. They cannot say they will call the welfare office. They (collectors) can be fired for violating the FDCPA guidelines (per company policy) They can, however, call as many times as they wish as long as they dont actually speak to you and they are not intending to harrass you. RECORD EVERYTHING and call the ATTORNEY GENERAL asap. Also write a letter addressed to Tom J Franco (President of the manufactured housing division) or Keith Anderson (President of Greentree) Tom's address is 7360 S Kyrene Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283 and Kieth's address is 1400 w Turbine Dr, Rapid City SD
