GreenTree, Conseco ripoff St. Paul, knoxville Tennessee
We bought our doublewide in 2000, thru Conseco. They weren't bad to get along with. If we were gonna be late with a payment, then they understood, no problem. Now when GreenTree took over, another story altogether. I have never been talked to like they did. At one point we were 45 days late on a payment, due to me being out of work and in the hospital and I called them to pay in 2 wks the full payment and late fees. I was told that my house would be padlocked in 24 hrs if we couldn't borrow the money. I explained my next paydate schedule and my husbands, and he said tough, this is my house now and I want you out, and I'll be there personally to padlock the doors tomorrow afternoon. And then the ---hole hung up on me. Needless to say, I called back and spoke to his "supervisor" and was told the samething. Not exactly in those words, but rudely. We borrowed money from family to pay. When we decided to refinance to get away from them, they refused payoff's till we then had another payment due, and they charged us intrest and some other crazy fees on top of that. I swear everyday p/o was changing. I got to where I was writing down operator #'s, names, amounts and anything else I could. I finally spoke to 1 nice person who gave us the payoff and stuck to it for 4 business days till the check could get there and get posted. These people are crooks, and the lowest of the low. They should be shut down.
