Guardian Beneficial rip-off! Champlain New York
I received a phone call from guardian financial on Aug 2nd 2004 telling me the great news that I had been approved for a master card with a 2500.00 credit limit, 0 apr for 3 years and all they would need was a 249.00 processing fee. Since I had been trying to fix my credit, I thought this would help me. I asked every question imaginable to prevent a rip-off.
They insisted that it was a regualar credit card and that in 25 days after the debit date (Aug.6th) I would receive my card. I could not even afford the 249.00 but since it was a 2500.00, 0 apr I took it. After the 25 days, I called every day inquiring about my card. Every day was a different story. Finally, 42 business days after, I received a package.
The package included a book and cd on how to fix my credit and a form that gave me the "OPPORTUNITY" to apply for a cc. I immediately called them and they refused to give me a refund. I then threatened to report them to BBB and she said she could no longer speak to me because of the threat. I kept calling back and I got nothing but hangups. I am definately working on getting my money back. They have to pay for this! I refuse to believe that people get away with crap like this. If anyone is suing, please contact me and advise so that I may join you.
