Hale County Housing Authority abusive, deceptive, fraudulent, discriminatory towards disability Plainview Texas
I had a voucher with this organization for over a year to have my rent adjusted to my income. I went to the office to find out how to move my voucher to another state. I was told to write a notice that I would be moving out and to call the Housing office in my new location when I arrived. I wrote the notice as requested.
When I arrived at my new location I found out I was supposed to have received paperwork from the Plainview office to give to the office in my new location in Spokane WA. I started receiving help from a County (government) organization to help me get my voucher back.
The worker from the County organization was literally yelled at by the Head worker at the Hale County Housing Authority for calling about my situation. This person sent my advocate a fax stating that I owed them money for monies they had paid out in rent for the month after I left. They did not send information on where to send the monies. They did not give an account number or send any bill to me even though they had my forwarding address.
My advocate and I tried to get results from calling HUD in Seattle and Texas, did not get voucher back, but did get another letter faxed to the advocate's office stating I no longer owed them any monies and that I had never been on Section 8 in Plainview.
Because of these issues I was homeless for almost a year.
