I had high expectations when I visited handmadepiece.com.  There is a reason why the artwork that is posted on the handmadepiece website looks so much like the original masterpieces, that is because it is a cut and paste photo of the original masterpiece on their website not a photo of what your reproduction will look like.   The reproduction will be painted by someone in Singapore or some other Asian Country which is what you will actually be getting; from an artist that is less likely to have 20 years experience reproducing masterpieces and more likely some 20 year old art student.

I ordered a reproduction of Leonardo di Vinci's Mona Lisa months ago.  I specifically ordered as close to the original in the same size as the masterpiece itself.  After 4 weeks I was sent a very low resolution photo, about the size of a passport photo, that looked like a paint by numbers, very light, very pale, flat looking portrait.

I wrote a negative review on trust pilot and was emailed by Monica Lee of Handmadepiece the next day and was told the painting would be redone and asked to remove my posted review.  I agreed and removed my negative comment.

Weeks later I was again sent a low resolution photo of a darker version of Leonardo di Vinci's Mona Lisa.  It still needed work (one eye was too big and Mona Lisa's eyes are Brown not Black, no detail on clothing and hands) and was told the changes and details would be added.

After another two weeks I finally accepted the painting; which was delivered from Asia and the crate had been opened (possibly by the shipping company) and poorly resealed.

The artwork is substandard, it looks more like a portrait of Mona Lisa's mother with dark eye shadow makeup than anything di Vinci would have painted.

As it was purchased as a gift, the receiver was gracious enough to state the painting "was acceptable" and probably hung it to cover a crack in the wall, rather than because of its artistic merit or possibly had another painting that needed a frame.

Expect to be disappointed if you think the painting you receive will look anything like the work of the hundreds of Masters listed on their website.

As I previously stated, the work looks more like the painting was done by a 20 year old art student then painted by someone with 20 years experience reproducing masterpieces.
