Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I brought a Hargray wireless prepaid phone, they offer a phone with unlimited minutes for $49.99 per month (local service). You start with a new phone and 2 months service for $100.00. I purchased my phone from them, not one of the gas stations or cell phone corner stores.

The service was awful, the calls drop so much you can hardly have a conversation. Certain areas in town you know your call is going to drop or you can't make calls. OK there is no static but what about the calls breaking up. The unlimited minutes plan is very popular in our area but they (I believe) have signed so many people that the network can not handle it. People would call me and not get my voice mail but a weird message telling them to enter a calling card number.

The last straw was when my cheap phone stopped charging. I met someone with the same phone we switched batteries and my phone worked, so just thought I needed new battery. I took it the Hargray store on Abercorn Street. First they took my phone in the back and said they tested it. They put a battery in the phone and said it did not work, I kid you not, the battery they used felt empty. They said they would sell me a new phone for approx. $75.00 or new battery for $50.00. The salesman mentioned the option of sending the phone for repairs but quickly changed that offer.

I was then asked if I ever left my phone in my car overnight, because (I kid you not) condensation could cause water damage. Because I didn't fall for this lie. The salesman then smelled my phone and informed me a burnt smell coming from my phone let's him know a circuit has blown in the phone, because I let it charge overnight. He attempted to verify the burnt smell with female sales person who recoiled as if the phone smelled bad, I was offended. They then refused to sent the phone off for repairs and do anything but sell me something else. So I left.

I know why the service is so terrible I worked for Lucent Technologies when they set up the Hargray wireless network. I left a happy employee it was good temp job, the Lucent people were nice. Hargray setup the network towers to far apart.

I am now with T-mobile, excellent customer service, I actually feel like they care. I have many happy stories about T-mobile.
