My husband and I wanted to trade in our 99' Wrangler for a Landrover they had on the lot that need some fixing. The list price was $6995. I called and spoke to Frank. He was very nice and said the vehical would be fixed that weekend. He told us that we would get updateds on the progress. Well after about a momth of being jerked around. He said the vehical was done. My husband went in and liked it. We had told Frank because of our credit we could put some money down. He told us he needed $2500 down. We got it together and went in. He said that we spoke about putting $4000 down! I said to him that we agreed on $2500. Finally we got together the $4000 and he now wanted $5000. Simply because of where we were being finaced.

We looked at the contracted and we liked our new lender. $5000 was okay for us to put down but we could only put down so much now. He agreed that we would put $2000 down now and the remained on the 1st of Febuary. Our bank who financed our first vehical kept calling and saying when were we going to make a payment on the jeep. I told them we sold the jeep as a trade in. Deana from TD Banknorth told us they hadn't recieved the payoff yet. So we called Frank and he said till he got the remainder of our $5000 he wasn't going to pay it off! We didn't agree on that. Our ocntract with our new finacing showed the $5000 was already paid. The dealership had used their money to pay it for us. We had given them a post dated check. He knew he wasn't to cash it until the 1st. He called my husband at work and told him he was going to cash it now. Which was like 10 days before the arranged time.

My husband told them we didn't have that amount of money to pay now. The guy said okay I will tear up this check and you come in on the 1st and pay me. We agreed. On the first I called them and told them we were on our way in. He said he didn't understand why. I said to pay him. Frank said he already cashed the check!!!! Lucky for me I cancelled it the week before when they threatened to cash it early. He was surprised. My husband went in and paid him. There were other issues we had with them. They said we had nno warrenty but they would give us 2 months if anything went wrong they would help us. Well things went wrong and they were no where to be found!

So finally were now 120 days late on our jeep payment because this place didn;t pay off the Jeep. My husbad had this reflect his credit score. Our bank thankfully said once the Jeep is paid off, they will remove it from hs credit report. I spoke with Frank who dodged my calls, I asked for the tracking number to the supposed pay off letter to my bank. Now I just have towait and see.

My biggest thing is...do not buy from these people no matter now hard up you are for a good deal!

In Response to Elisabeth's complaint, We had an agreement with them that this jeep would be paid off when all of the money for the down payment was collected. The original deal was for the 15th of January which was amended by this couple the day they came in to sign the contract. They had asked us to hold the check until the 1st of February. We did agree that the check would not be dropped into the bank until the first February. We held up to our end of the bargain. On February 2nd Christopher contacted us and told us that he will be in with a different personnel check for us from a different bank. They informed us that they had closed this account and had to give us a different check. This again was OK with us as we were doing our best to work with them and not unwind this deal we had made. After what transpired with the first check bouncing and the condition of their credit (which was not good in fact terrible) we were not going to pay off this jeep until the check for $3000.00 had cleared our account. If we had paid this jeep off and the check bounced again we would have been left holding the bad check for $3000.00 and a jeep we had paid off for $9200.00 that was worth thousands less in trade. When the funds hit our account we sent the check over night to TD bank north for the full payoff amount. There was no scam there was no rip off. We held up our end of the bargain all the way through, we have answer all of their phone calls and did our best to work with the situation at hand. So this claim of being a scam artist is uncalled for and a complete falsification. If they would like to discuss this we would be more than happy to do so.
