Recently Harvest Homes Owner Mark Fumusa wrote a contract for the construction of a model home. The contract had an approximate ceiling for total construction expenses based on the estimate. There was a cushion built in so as to not overrun expenses.

We requested and received regular reports on the construction progress and part way through construction, things looked on schedule cost-wise. The builder, Fumusa, thought we would still come in under budget.

A very short time later we found out we were substantially over budget, with no real explanation. We were asked to bring additional monies. We found out recently that Fumusa had, in the past, threatened to stop construction on a prior build in the area.

Harvest Homes felt a need to bring a legal threat to cover the overages of construction cost which were at no fault of the us the buyer. Fumusa harassed us at home and work us to bring additonal funds to the table. Our only option was to bring in a legal team.

Harvest Homes records were found to be disorganized and they did not represent the type of accounting that a homebuilder should use to keep a cost budget on schedule. The final cost of the home is still in question to this day because of the shoddy paperwork and lack of organization.

Overall, Mr. Fumusa of Harvest Homes proved to be an unorganized home builder that has a problem estimating costs for new construction. Based on his miscalculations, Fumusa feels the customer needs should cover up his mistakes.

We are aware of another party that experienced a similar problem with over charging on their home and similar experience.
