Haverty's Furniture Co. ripoff deceptive company falsely drawing up contract approving continued credit taking payments Arlington Texas
We have bought from Haverty's in the past. We made purchases and paid them off during their 12 month no interest plan. This has been for living room furniture then later bedroom furniture. We returned to Haverty's because we have been their customer before thinking that would make a difference.
We selected a entertainment grouping. We were sent to credit, they checked to see if we were still in the computer. Asked for any address changes. Told us it would just be a few minutes. They came back to us and said it was ok. The saleman checked to see if everything was in the warehouse and set up a time for delivery.
The credit department explained the contract, has us sign. We were asked if we wanted to put anything down and we gave them a check for $1000.00. They ran a check on this and it was ok. They proceeded to give us a copy of the sales invoice and a copy of the revolving charge agreement/securtiy agreement. They explained about how much the payment would be and when that would be due.
Later they called and said it had been denied. Did we want to pay cash or put it on a credit card. No, they could not tell us why. We would have to wait to get a letter. They still have our $1000.00 check--which I know we can get back. Why did we wait at the store for a credit check and be told ok. We have been a good customer in the past, why the change? They told us we didn't need to put anything down, it was up to us. Help!

Your credit score changes on a daily bases, just because you were approved one year ago, or even three mths. ago does'nt mean you are going to get approved today. They may have told you yes but it is what it is. As long as they mailed you a letter with a explanation then their was on wong doing. It's not their fault if your credit score was'nt in their approval rang! P.S. they do have irresistable furniture
