This sounds like the oldest excuse since computers were invented - I think I heard this 25 years ago and it looks like it is still popular among unethical companies to blame the bad, mean old ugly system...
read my story about their "New : Dollar / Miles bookings possible" announcement that would not work when I actually tried to make use of this exciting option. Finally the "Good fellows at Hawaiian Airlines" broke out in tears because they were so desperate to help me and they felt so ashamed that they couldn't because of that mean thing that would not let them do it.
Probably they had an intruder who manipulated their system to make them look bad and to make their customers unhappy. I am assuming that their IT department did not make any mistakes and that they are not responsible.

Regardless of the problem you've run into, I'm sure it can be resolved. I travel between Phoenix and Honolulu a couple of times a year, and always travel Hawaiian. They've had a rough time since the price war stated here, and are trying to survive. I think the fares change faster than the computer can catch up, but you'll still have a good time. Their direct flight from Sky Harbor is a very pleasant flight.

Peter: First, this is a forum about consumer complaints. How dare you question my reasons for going to Hawaii. But, since you were so rude to make such a comment I am going to respond. My husband and I have saved and scrapped together for this trip for years. 10 years ago we actually had the tickets to go when my brother in law was hit by a truck and we turned in the tickets to move him here to live with us for 5 years and take care of him. Since then I have been helping care for 4 grandchildren. This will be the one and only time we will get to go to celebrate our 20th anniversary. So, from now on, before you have the audacity to question someones reasons, you should think twice, which is probably your limit, and keep your unwanted, rude comments to yourself.

I travel between HNL and OGG at least twice each month and between HNL and LAS at least 5 times each year. I've been booking online for the last two years. It was kind of rough in the beginning, but has been pretty much "smooth sailing" for the last year. I've had problems when the "bargain fares" are advertised by the local news stations. I sometimes get an error message that the fare is no longer available. I simply restart the session and book my reservations. I've never had a billing problem. With all of the trips I've taken, the fare on the screen at the time of booking as well as the subsequent emails matches my cc statements. Keep in mind that there's additional fees like taxes and the "homeland securtity" fee. Hope this helps. Rev. Dr. DHL Haitsuka - Honolulu, HI

It sounds more like a computer error than a "bait and switch." Have you tried booking your trip by telephone to get the most up-to-date information. Furthermore, if you "cannot afford lavish trips," why are you planning one to Hawaii? That is one of the most expensive vacation destinations one could possibly choose.
