This physician (Dr. Gaines) works in both California and in Florida. In California he offers virtual medical consults.

You call up on the phone, speak with Josh Zuckerman, ask a lot of questions and you'll be quoted a price and told that this will all be an easy process. He will tell you everything you want to hear, so be very careful! He will tell you that this is a 5 minute process - if you just fill out these 2 simple forms (not medical questions, just for them to charge you), he will have someone call you that day or the following day to schedule an appointment. It will NEVER happen!

Dr Richard Gaines only work with one small company called IMS (Insurance Medical Services) in Fremont, California, and whatever IMS says, that's what will happen. HealthGAINS has NO idea what they do, say, who they set you up with, etc. If you ask any questions, you will be told that you don't have an agreement with IMS (Insurance Medical Services) so therefore it's not their problem... It's the same reason Josh Zuckerman will tell you it isn't his problem. He will take full responsibility while telling you that there is nothing he can do because it's "other people".

Prepare for a lot of promises: they promised to send someone to the house, and then if you say yes, they tell you they can't do it, that type of thing. All you will end up with is a ton of aggravation, no appointment, waiting and hoping that your money will be refunded.

A quote from Josh Zuckerman: that it wasn't important because "it's not like Dr. Gains practices emergency medicine or cardiology".

He was stating that the medicine practiced by Dr. Gain was not important (I thought that it was)?!

Bottom Line: There are plenty of other physicians out there. Make a better choice and don't end up with the headache! If Dr. Richard Gaines has a change in his staff, or stops working with IMS, then it might be worth considering.

I was referred to Dr.Gaines by an acquaintance.  From the first time I called them, there were indicators of poor customer service.  It took me calling them several times just to get my first appointment scheduled but I thought maybe they're a busy practice and things happen.  The first visit was for bloodwork.  They told me insurance did not cover their services at all and that everything was going to be out-of-pocket.  I did not question this as I figured it was their field so they must know. I paid for initial bloodwork and met with Dr.Gaines a week later.  When we met, I found him a personable guy but not very well informed.  I had done some prelim research in the field and there were certain questions I asked and drugs that I mentioned that he could not answer and was not familiar with.  I found this odd.  However the initial regimen he recommended made sense to me so I went along with it.  Over the next two months, no one called me for any kind of follow up.  I had to call the office multiple times to get instructions emailed to me and they were sent incomplete the first time.  I went in about 10 weeks later and did not see the doctor.  The PA took more blood, I paid out of pocket again and then I had a phone conference with Dr. Gaines a week later.  On the phone, he had no idea who I was asking "So do you live in state?" I'm thinking "Do you even have my chart in front of you?" He modified my regimen and although I wasn't 100% confident in his reasoning for the changes I went along with them again thinking that he's the expert. Long story short, things went downhill.  I called a few times, specifically asked to speak to Dr. Gaines.  He NEVER called me back.  His PA would call, I would ask her what I wanted to ask him and she would say "I need to review this with Dr. Gaines and call you back." No one EVER did.  I had to request email instructions twice and AGAIN, they were sent incomplete.  I didn't even finish the $5000 regimen he put me on.  I found another doc who did new bloodwork FULLY covered by insurance (imagine that) and more comprehensive than what Dr.Gaines did plus a salivary cortisol test.  He really explained in detail what I needed and why.  It turns out 2 of the supplements Dr. Gaines put me on were completely wrong and actually exacerbated my symptoms and a few weeks after I stopped them, symptoms improved.  The level of knowledge and customer service of my second doc compared to Gaines is night and day.  I wasted 5 months and over $5000 with him.

hope this typing is done as told how in site directions.  my name is lisa gordon. i am a patient of dr.richard gaines since 2008 on and off due to my lack of income. which they work with me. i am 43 years old, have rare pituitary/body does not produce hormones. my 8 year marriage ended, family & most "friends" stopped talking to me. my entire life i was working, college, professional showing, training, head trainer of horse farms, ect., managed a bodybuilding gym, trained people recovering from various illness, surgeries, beginners. ate very healthy, rode 4-wheelers, skeet-shooting guns, a very active/involved, responsible aunt, competitive athlete. i became very ill gradually, had open heart surgery to repair a vsd (childbirth defect, hole in my heart). cardiothorasic surgeon said i was his healthiest patient & he was a cardio surgeon for over 25 years. i was up & walking out of the icu unit 10 hours later. i done everything my drs told me to do. i've had several other surgeries, stress, deaths, divorce, boss of big company, no recovery time, life was full-blast. my dr warned me when adrenal fatigue set in. my body would not move. i was too weak. at first family took me to see several drs. the  drs said i was out of shape. i'm 5 foot 4 inches, weighed 120 pounds 24% body fat. i was mostly muscle. then drs said too much stress, rest. nothing helped which led me on a search across the USA to find a medical, herbal, natural path anyone to help me. i began dr.gaines health program. extensive testing blood, urine, exam, several lengthy discussions about my symptoms and he would adjust program and we would talk 7-10 days later to see if adjustment worked. i was sent to local blood lab to get levels checked regularly. dr.gaines told me me honestly the same thing 2 other well respected dr/specialists (out of town also) said I have very rare condition, most drs don't know of it, and many patients suffer, get worse, die within years. when i started dr.gaines program, he told me it might take a couple of months before i starrted feeling any energy because test results (i have copies) showed that my adrenal issues untreated, caused damage, my body needed to heal. we got levels up, Dr.gaines & my case worker at the time (Tom) encouraged me to follow a personal activity, rest, nutrition, hormone regimen. after 5 months, i went from misery to winning the world championship horse shows in entire USA. unexpected horse rescues (save from slaughter/starvation/high vet bills) drained my income. i was doing very good. not back to the gym, still struggling b/c horse work lifting heavy things, a lot of work. i lost the neatest horse that God sent to earth, and i was grateful to get her. she suffered with seizures, severe pain, agony from monday a.m. to sat.7pm. I had 3 diff vet clinics work on her (i assisted, have also been vet asst.). i stayed with her entire time. jan in IL. ice & snow storms freezing. we were in barn, horse had winter horse blanket on & heated water. i kept telling vets they treating her for colic & it's a human caused genetic disease hypp, they treated her 9 months ago at previous owners, i showed them med records. (DR'S ARE THE SAME!!). i fell into major depression. then 2nd mom was given too much med in hospital & it killed her. i was barely hanging on & lack of hormones can cause "crazy episodes." i am prone to depression, anxiety, have post traumatic stress from all this personal & medical problems. one thing in body, causes reactions through entire body.        without dr.Gaines program, i have been off it since late 2009, everything in my body is failing! i'm calling now to make appointment and plan all the care I need. i believe he will save my life!  i am sorry for any of you that had a bad experience.  i learned, the dr and patient have to be a good, reliable fit or you need to keep searching until you get the right dr. just as we do when choosing a friend.

Reading your comments about Dr. Gaines made me, and everyone else who read it, a little bit dumber b/c you sound like such an idiot.  You are quite possibly the most confusing author of any comments ever posted in the literate world and as such, logic dictates that most people have never heard such idiotic remarks.

Quick word(s) of advice, especially if you are making a negative remark about a medical doctor:

1. Try to make some logical, intelligent and relevant point to your comment(s).

2. Offer some proof and/or reasoning as to how and why you arrived at your conclusion---simply bashing Dr. Gaines' staff is as weak a case that one could argue.  From the way you sound, I too would likely only agree to communicate with you via email b/c I'm sure speaking to you would be quite difficult and even more painful than simply trying interpret what you have written in an email.

3. If you want anything in this world, you will almost always needs to go out and make it happen---so I'm sorry that your request to have someone go to your house was not granted, but here on earth, in 2013, that proves absolutely nothing as to the merits of any doctor, clinic or their support staff.

Lastly, I strongly urge you to stop worrying about your refund  (which I'm sure isn't appropriate anyway) and go find the money to successfully complete a program such as or similar to those prescribed by Dr. Gaines.

It sounds to me, in fact i would bet, that there is no way you followed Dr. Gaines' program as prescribed.  I can say that with confidence b/c his programs are designed with medications/supplements that have had nothing but objectively positive results after years of testing.  Putting it a different way, perhaps in simple terms so you can understand, getting positive and life-changing results is not an opinion of Dr. Gaines---it is a medical and scientific certainty.  Do some research!! This field is not only soon to be mainstream but more importantly, is one that is scrutinized heavily by the FDA and other agencies.  If there was even a hint of this being "quack medicine", none of us would have legal access to programs such as those prescribed by Dr. Gaines.

Hit the reset button buddy.....it time for you to start all over again, and next time, think about what you are saying before you just start blowing hot air like you have been doing.....

Dr. Richard Gaines MD Does not practice in California, including Los Angeles?

According to your rebuttal, Dr. Richard Gaines MD (Healthgaines.com) does not practice medicine in Los Angeles. If this is correct: 1. NO ONE IN CALIFORNIA SHOULD USE THIS PHYSICIAN FOR SERVICES IN CALIFORNIA! This is according to the individual defending their practice. If he doesn't practice there or from a distance ("telemedicine"), this statement should be of no concern to anyone.

You may not have heard of IMS, this does not mean that they do not exist, or that they are not utilized by Dr Richard Gaines. There are plenty of emails and paperwork that show otherwise.

The facts are that Dr Gaines: does practice "telemedicine", practices from a distance in California, and uses IMS (NOT IMS Health), which are easily proven to be true. However, as you insist this is not the case, then I am certain that you would agree that no one should use the services of Dr. Gaines outside of Florida, from a distance, via "telemedicine", and certainly not in California as you stated that you are in Los Angeles and only "wish" that he practiced there.

My wife and I have been patients of HealthGaines and Dr. Richard Gaines for two years. Prior to that we had another anti-aging doctor for 15 years. Dr Gaines and his entire staff have shown us the ultimate in professionalism and courtesy during this time. When I read this Ripoff Report, I assumed that it was written by a disgruntled ex-employee or frustrated competitor because it contains so many untruths I don't know where to begin.

I checked out Dr. Gaines prior to changing physicians and met personally with Josh Zuckerman and Dr. Gaines before making a long-term commitment at their offices in Ft. Lauderdale. I only wish that Dr. Gaines practiced in California, the way this anonymous person claims, because my wife and I spend five months a year in the Los Angeles area and I would love to be able to personally see Dr. Gaines without flying to Ft. Lauderdale. HealthGaines is an outstanding provider of anti-aging expertise and their costs are extremely reasonable compared to other providers, especially one very large national firm headquartered in Nevada.

As for IMS, I have never heard or them or had to deal with them at all. Dr. Gaines is an expert in preventive medicine and ranks among this country's finest in my opinion.

The name of the manager (who will not take your calls and writes that he can only be responded to via email is:

Dave Gorney
HealthGAINSMD.com
954-962-588 (phone)
954-961-4558 (fax)

Direct quote from an email from Dave Gorney: "If you have any questions or concerns regarding this refund please feel free to contact me via email."

He then gives all of the information above (name, phone, fax, etc). As for the refund, it has not occurred.

This is all related to Dr. Richard Gaines at HealthGainesMD http://healthgainesmd.com who is heavily advertised on sponsored links on Google as a "Harvard MD" specializing in Growth Hormones, HGH, testosterone, etc. He practices medicine over the internet.

Do not expect to be contacted other than via email if there is a problem and do not expect the "manager" to handle it. As for receiving money back, it has yet to occur. Neither will they send you any information of this supposed "refund" being granted. I will update this report if there are changes to this.

DO NOT EXPECT ANY PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY!!!!! This includes: Dr. Richard Gaines, Dave Gorney, Josh Zuckerman, anyone at IMS, etc. Please be very careful.

This report has NO baring on the many reputable physicians in this field who do not treat patients this way. Choose wisely.
