The company has been charging me US$9.88 every month for technical support because I have subscribed the Windows Media Player for one year.  I paid the Windows Media Player one time and I did not subscribe for any technical support whatsoever, which means they have no authorization for charging me every month.

HelpMeDownload redirects away from legitimate sites to their fee site (not Free site)

Following is info found on DSL Reports: they seem to be part of the Saphie Number One scam organization! (see other reports)

"domain: helpmedownload.com owner: Tech Support organization: Saphie Number One Limited (Reg 91918) email: [email protected] address: 26 York Street city: London postal-code: W1U 6PZ country: GB phone: +44.02075539793... "

Now my comments:

They charge for free products, do not deliver anything except charges to your credit card account, in all the reports I found posted. Also the customer service rep "letter" repeats the same exact info everytime - no name or real contact info that will get you any satisfaction, possibly a refund if you insist.

Every complaint I see is for the download of a free product or update that this company intercepts and charges a fee for, the actual supplier of the software sees none of this redirect or money. The computers may be infected with malware which causes this redirect, so anyone who sees this should scan for malware programs on their own computers. It is also possible the site you went to was an infected site and that was the problem.

== Windows Media Player is a free player from Microsoft. Never any fee. Technical support is from your computer support people (friends, work, your ISP, etc.) or Microsoft, or websites with technical information posted for free on the internet, but I see none reported from helpmedownload.com.
