Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
These people took advantage of someones misfortunes and profited for themselves. They took advantage of a severally handicapped child, and their family by inflating the price of a car, KNOWING that the families car had broken down, that they were far away from home (Los Angeles) in Las Vegas and that they were totally helpless in what their dealership charged them for a car. They jacked up the price of the car, the salesman lied to us stating they had no used cars for sale, when in fact they had many used cars on the lot for sale and the fact that he just wanted to make a bigger commission on the sale of the vehicle.

The vehicle is not working properly now, the dealer refused to repair it properly despite the fact we have a so-called "bumper to bumper" warranty, they added unnecessary items on the final bill of sale, changed our contract when it was renewed, never told us we would have to pay additional charges becasue we were out of state residents, and overcharged us by over $2,000 on the price of the car. This is a letter from a salesman in the dealership (not knowing who I was at the time) stating the price of the vehicle to anyone who was interested in this car:

Hi Mitchell,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a car from Henderson Hyundai.Your MSRP is 19,980 you only pay invoice. 16,553, minus 300.00 under invoice. 16,253 plus your sales tax title and doc fees. When can you come in for a test drive?

Thank you,

It is our stated policy to treat every visitor to our showroom as an honored guest in our home every day, every time, without fail, no exceptions.

I was charged $25,000 on our final contract!!! This is a HUGE difference! This company is fraudlent and they lie to their customers about unnecessary items to add to their vehicle just to jack up their profits. They should be avoided at all costs, we weren't so lucky, and we didn't have a choice, you do!

Henderson Hyundai is unethical, especially the manager. They think they can get away with it because they are a "franchise" and do not report to corporatde. If you ever complain about their poor services and mistakes, they will refuse to honor warranty, contractual services, and even refuse to make repairs when there is a mandatory recall. Henderson Hyundai, especially the store manager, is putting its customers in danger of accidents and not providing services according to signed contracts. I would recommend that you file a complaint with the BBB and encourage others to do the same! They get your money, add items to the contract that were not requested, make errors in the contracts, then tell you to come back in to correct tem just so they can upsale you again with the finance guy, Wow. . . .

My report' wasn't an exercise in levity. nor was it 'nit picking'. It was in response to the content in your post. No more, no less. You've now played the 'handicapped child' card to the hilt. Truly, you have my (and probably most other's )sympathy on that issue. In addition, absolutely NO PLACE in my post did I allude to your 'driving around in Las Vegas, LOOKING for a new car '. . Your quote: As for your comment, 'I expect the dealer to be an honest, law abiding member of the community, complaint with the needs of the community, not a shady criminal'.....The logic here eludes me. Such a car dealer is an apparition as any adult should already know. . You want 'nit picking'? Here's an example: Why was your '80 pound Labador riding in the trunk?' (again, your exact words) THAT would be nit picking, and taking part of your report out of context. . I have a feeling this banter between us could go on and on ad nauseam. This will be my final missive, Mitch. Take it away. As Blondie says in her Best of Blondie CD, in track 12, Rip me to shreds. The floor is yours now unchallanged. . Honestly, I do wish you luck. The good kind, for a change. .

One other thing, Adolph, you make it appear we were driving around in Las Vegas, LOOKING for a new car to trade our old car in for. Does that make any sense to you? Why would we drive almost 300 miles away from our home just to get a new car, ESPECIALLY since purchasing a new car where we live would have saved us thousands of dollars. What you are trying to imply makes no sense at all.

Apparently what appears to to you to be a humorous attempt at nit-picking my story, I didn't think was quite that funny, with a severally handicapped child and a dog with half our personal belongings in our trunk. We suffered a very serious economic hardship as a result of these parasites trying to exploit us for their own benefit. I thought I had made it abundently clear in my report that we had a severally handicapped child in a wheelchair, a dog and not much patience for shady car dealers just waiting to take advantage of a helpless family. Oh, and what you state is right, "Your 270 mile (far away from home, again, your words) trip in my travelling history would be waaaaaay less than one day's drive" Apparently, I failed to advise you in the story is that we previously lived in New York City, were in the process of moving to Los Angeles, had been living in Los Angeles a mere 3 months and had driven back and forth from New York City to Los Angeles 3 times, and in your words, "Los Angeles to LasVegas isn't exactly a particularly long trip in my book." failing to realize that we had already driven approximately 2500 miles from New York, we had little patience for shady car dealers waiting to take advantage of helpless people down on their luck. I am sorry I didn't not make that clear in my original story, I WAS 270 miles away from home, but had already driven 2500 miles, from New York by myself, what do you expect me to do, take a bus back to Los Angeles? As far as the rental goes, my girlfriend didn't happened to have an extra $500 on her credit card as we used up all our credit on the way back from NYC, the car rental companies don't accept cash if that didn't happen to occur to you BUT the dealer miracously does, we had already were 75% through the contract and it was our only other alternative besides taking a Greyhound bus to LA with a severally handicapped child in a wheel chair and Greyhound buses don't accept 80 pound Labador pets on their buses the last time I checked. I think we made the only decision we could, given the circumstances. As for your comment, "what choice did the dealer have anyway", I expect the dealer to be an honest, law abiding member of the community, complaint with the needs of the community, not a shady criminal, how do they stay in business, besides as I already stated in my original report, we didn't know they screwed us until AFTER we got back to LA when they sent us a revised contract to sign and threatened to pick up the car if we didn't sign it (an updated contract), I am sorry I didn't explain that in my original report, but then again I expected some compassion, and sympathy, not criticism and "what did you expect them to do", just a quick question, are you related to the dealer because it sure sounds like your related. By the way, our saleman LIED to us about giving us money back on the trade-in and he knew from the beginning the car didn't run, he lied about the selling price of the car, stating, "thats the fair market value of the vehicle in Las Vegas" and he lied to us about the interest rate on the loan AFTER WE GOT THE NEW CONTRACT IN THE MAIL. What was I suppose to do if I didn't agree with the contract, walk out of the dealership with a severally handicapped child in a wheelchair, a dog and a trunkload of our worldy belongings, get real, please!

Let me start by reaffirming what I've already made quite clear: I have absolutely no respect or trust in any car dealer, and in fact hold them in contempt..now that that's out of the way.. Let's get to the crux of your 25K Hundai. . We now read you were upside-down in the car you were driving, and it was not saleable. We can safely assume a portion of the $25K on the Hundai was the pay-off of your worthless trade-in. Could that perhaps also be a part of the $2K mystery amount also? If you were needing a new car anyway (your words) perhaps the trip was ill-advised, eh? . You allude to the $500. rental being a waste of money. Sure sounds like that could've been easily covered by the alleged $2K overcharge you mention. If indeed you were upside down in a worthless car, what choice did the dealer have anyway. Hell, a dealer will screw you without any reason or excuse, This dealer actually had a reason and a GOOD excuse. . Los Angeles to LasVegas isn't exactly a particularly long trip in my book. Try N. IN to Los Angeles on a motorcycle. Done that twice (and back). Your 270 mile (far away from home, again, your words) trip in my travelling history would be waaaaaay less than one day's drive. . I'm not trying to rag on you. Your story, however, gives this dealer a plethora of excuses on why and how he screwed you over. I guess in car dealer jargon you were ripe for the picking.

One other thing, with regards to the comment made about renting a car in Las Vegas

We couldn't have rented a car anway. We still owed money on our old car and this dealer "promised" to give us a great trade-in deal on our car despite it's motor was blown up, so we foolishly listened to the dealer.

We already tried that BEFORE we bought the car, besides we didn't plan on getting RIPPED OFF at the car dealer (a valuable but costly lesson). Regardless, we needed a new car anyway and the $500 enterprise wanted to charge us for a weekly rental (one way, remember) would have been a waste of money.

that you could have rented an auto one way to get home? Anytime a dealer knows they will NEVER see you again (you live far away so some other place is going to get your service business,) you're probably going to pay more.

The Bank threatened to repossess our car, our child has Cerebal Palsy and needs the car to go to doctors

Just a quick update to my story: We are now in default of the bank loan. The Bank threatened to repossess our car, our child has Cerebal Palsy and needs the car to go to doctors appointments, and the auto dealer wants nothing to do with us, but they altered the contract and got away with it as they threatened to pick up the car if we did not sign the new inflated contract.
