Hewlett-Packard Company sold me a lemon.. It's a ZD8000... Palo Alto, California
I have a HP ZD8000 that is only 6 months out of warranty and has a mother board that is failing.. It will go black screen at any time and has been diagnosed by Data Dr store that the video card is failing. Of course the card is built into the mother board and will eventually fail to the point that I will be unable to boot to a screen that I can see..Data Dr store says to replace the mother board they have to exchange it with HP and the cost of the board would be $650, that's absurd that they have you over a barrel..
I have had nothing but trouble since buying this laptop starting with software issues shortly after purchasing.. I was naturally subjected to dealing with people in India that I had a great deal of trouble understanding and them understanding me.. I noticed when ordering and asking questions about purchasing I was always in contact with people here in the US.. It seems to me that there are so many problems with this particular laptop that there should be a class action suit in progress.. My battery also failed 1 month after the warranty lapsed.. I raised so much cane that they did replace it with a battery that was not much better than the one that they replaced.. I never got much more than an hour from either battery..
Anyway buyer beware, don't buy any HP product unless you are prepared to continually have problems.. Any comments from people haveing similar problems are welcome to e-mail me.. If you're 1 of the few that have not had problems then that's great..Don't flame me because I am in the group of what seems to be 100's if not 1000's that are having critical failures with the ZD8000..
