I purhased A compaq laptop from office depot and the specs said 512mb memory, on the sticker, but inside was only 256mb well i got online to HP help chat and was told no sorry they only have 256mb your sticker on the computer is wrong thank you for being jacked by us (my interpertation) bye. Well I called the HP support number and talked with someone who had a vague comprehension of the english language but was able to have a supervisor call me back later that day and tell me "they were sorry they made a mistake and sent some units out with less than stated memory, and they would send me an additional 256mb stick of memory(my problem to pay to have it installed) I said ok thanks, and ill never buy a HP Product ever again.

To Top it off I was fradulently ripped out of my $150 rebate as well I was told I didnt send the UPC label in, which I did. I sent it in again and this time I was told "now you are too late" Wow two strikes with the same computer. Thats why ill never purchase an HP product again, not that this will hurt HP AND THATS WHY THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE LONE CONSUMER! Also Office Depot is in on this and I filed another report on them and what they did to try and coverup the scam o the missing memory
