HFC Beneficial Beneficial has not started foreclosure, but hired a company whom went in and disposed of our belongings Buffalo, New York
Hard times fell on our family and we could no longer afford to pay our mortgage. We found a place to move to and we were slowly moving our stuff over. We did not abandon our property. HFC had not started foreclosure and still have not, but went a head and hired a company to go in and remove our belongings.
In doing so, the company disposed of a lot of things that cannot be replaced, and they even went as far as destroying some of our property, such as a gun cabinet that my husbands grandfather made and they took the gun and bow and arrow that was inside. I have contacted HFC four times to find out where our stuff is and they give me a number that they say is the hired companies number and when I call them 2 were disconnected numbers and 2 were for a family florist.
I finally got fed up and sent a certified letter to HFC explaining all my phone calls and what their hired company did and sent a list of missing and destroyed items, and demanded that they contact me within one week of receiving the letter to offer compensation for our items and have not heard a word from them. I also told them that they are ultimately responsible because they hired them to clean us out, so I hold them liable.
They discarded all our summer clothes, boxes of pictures of my daughter growing up, and of our families that are deceased, that we cannot replace. Box of all of our important paperwork, such as our deed, titles, etc. A lot of stuff is gone.
I have been trying to find a lawyer to help me get some compensation for our lost items to no prevail. We are currently in the midst of filing bankrupt and they have been notified of this, but I just want was is right. They had no right to touch our stuff without contacting us first.
