Christmas time ad said purchased CD players installed FREE if price over $100 (approx). Purchase price $126. Installed for $80 with a base install price of $40.

Presented us with a $40 rebate certificate. Customer must first pay the installation fee to get the rebate.

Submitted the claim and it was received by hh gregg 12 days later. The certificate has no expiration date. The only stipulation is it must be filed with 30 days of installation.

Now the cheats say it is dated after the qualifying period for this promotion. Bought 1-1-2003, claimed 1-12-2003, within 30 days of the purchase, as required, so what is the problem?

The credit card company talked to the store and was told the store had received a lot of calls. Wonder what that means?

Some loyal employee got a response? Got credibility?

Next Christmas any electronics needs will be sought elsewhere even if at a higher price. We'll be needing TVS soon (digital, HD). Remember DON'T go to hh gregg. They LIE. They steal. They misrepresent. They do not keep their word.

HH Gregg local store stepped up and paid the Rebate

Although the Corporate Office sponsored in-dash installation Rebates, it took calls to Indianapolis and then their referral to the Louisville store to finally get what was due. The HH Gregg store at Taylorsville Road in Louisville, KY paid out the rebate after I travelled there on my day off to claim my rebate that should have been mailed weeks earlier. I have been paid and HH Gregg has seen the last of my business.

I drove back to the store (inconvenient) and watched the store personnel struggle to pay the rebate.

After 2 emails (waited 6 days apart as they said CSR would contact in 2-3 business days), 2 voicemails, and several telephone calls, I drove back to the store (inconvenient) and watched the store personnel struggle to pay the rebate. I have my rebate (I really didn't gain anything for all the time spent) and I have learned a lesson I won't forget.
