HID Geeks Slim HID Ripoff! Sold warranty but not honoring and won't return email. Internet
This company sells automotive High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and some LED lights. These are the white/blue headlights that are extra bright and are becoming more popular these days. I bought two HID kits from HID geeks about a year ago and purchased a "lifetime" warranty on both kits.
The ballasts are notoriously unreliable on these kits so I figured it was worth the extra $20 each for the warranty. Since purchasing I've had a ballast go out, and on their website there's a contact icon so when clicking it a typical box comes up to send them a message. At that point it asks if its a warranty issue and provides a form to be filled out explaining the issue.
This site looks pretty well made so I felt it was lagit. Well it the past year I've sent them 12 messages and haven't received one reply. So first, if you buy from HIDgeeks, don't buy the warranty, and know that if something breaks, you're on your own!
Companies are cropping up on the internet selling inferior Chinese products, and it's one thing to sell it, it's another to sell a warranty on these products and not honor it!
