I clicked on this site, assuming it was more likely to be legit since it ends in ".org." The second I submitted some basic information, my phone started ringing off the hook with countless agents offering me insurance from companies I've never heard of. This site is basically just a ploy to get people's information to sell.

" I submitted some basic information," you stated. You entered your name, address and phone number. You were the one who requested quotes on the World Wide Web. That is why you received calls. Why are you surprised that you were called? The calls were to assist you in getting the quotes that you asked for. Just because you have not heard of the companies does not mean they are not legitimate.
