June 2008 I visited the Hillside Auto Mall in Hillside NJ. I was assisted by a salesperson named Esperanza. I was informed that after running my credit I did not make enough money to pay for the car and my poor credit history I was turned down for the loan. My cousin who was with me Joey Calcador was then ran through credit check to become a co-signer. They then said it would be better to put the car solely in his name and after 6 months I could just come back to them and have the primary person on the loan changed to mines with no problem. We were told He had to get a new car because the bank felt that with an old car any repairs made would hinder him from making his payments on time. We were not given the choice to look at the vehicle prior to signing the paperwork he signed everything and we went to see the vehicle they could "give" us. It was a 2008 KIA optima lx it was a trade in the loan was signed for 27,000 payback at 340 per month.

A week later we discovered the anti-freeze container had a leak in it. Also the bottom carriage had a crack in it. A few weeks ago we went to the dealership to have the car placed in my name I was informed by one of the managers Al that Esperanza and her manager Paul no longer worked there. And I had to have a credit check to make a new loan with the bank which was not what the salesperson told me. She told my cousin and I that all we had to do was come back in 6 months to 1 yr and have the name on the loan changed. I pay for this car every month. Along with the 400 insurance payments I am making.

When I finally arrived at the place I was greeted by the salesperson she was an Asian lady sitting at the front desk. When asked to speak to the manager Al a heavy set male by the name of Nick Conklin came to speak to me. He informed me that there was nothing Hillside Auto mall could do because Esperanza and Paul never worked for them. Mr. Conklin stated that Esperanza was a third party company working out of there dealership to help sell cars. And suggested that I should go find her because she sold me the car. The paperwork that we have from the day we purchased the vehicle says hillside auto mall i said. Mr. Conklin then rudely told me he could not help me and to get out of his dealership.

I am stuck with a vehicle that is in someone Else's name my name no where on the loan and paying their high insurance premiums when it's cheaper to have it put in my name. I feel very cheated you think you can go to a dealership and not get tooken for a ride but I was please help me!!!!

If you were not permitted to see, test drive or have your own mechanic evaluate the car....then why in the world did you stay there and enter into the deal??? You also mentioned "their high insurance" premiums. Why did you buy their insurance instead of getting it yourself??? Let me tell you something... YOU are a very valuable person! You don't need this or any other dealer, THEY NEED YOU! Without you, they make ZERO profit. You don't need to go thru the doors, hat in hand, groveling for a crumb. You are a valued person...without customers, they don't exist. Apparently, you approached them the other way around...you played doormat and they moved in, took advantage of you and now here you are. Never, ever play doormat again. Remember...YOU are a very valuable person. They need you...you sure as hell don't need them.
