I have been using Hiram waste since 2004. I am not, nor have I ever been an employee. Until recently I did not know they had competition in my area.
They are notorious for missing pickups, and still expecting to get paid in full. When they do pickup, it could be at 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is no consistency. When they missed a pickup, I called. They did not pickup the phone or return my call.
Recently they raised their rates, and then promptly cut service from twice a week to once a week. Unlike some of my neighbors, I did not get a note on my trash can informing me of the change. It was just luck that I received word from a friend who was outraged. For several weeks I have seen others on my street continue to put out there trash on the original days.
I have sent Hiram a letter of cancellation, and in their tradition taped one to their trash can. I have switched service to IESI. Most of my neighbors are switching so that the new year starts fresh. In a nut shell Hiram is unprofessional, rude, and have the belief that customers are there to service them. My message to them is GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. My friends and I are spreading the word as quickly as we can. IESI has a phone number. You can find it in the greater Dallas area phone book.
