We officially began this process on June 9, 2004 and 80 days later, whammo!! Is that great building or what?? I am being completely sarcastic of course. We discussed some options about completing with another builder, but knew we had no choice in the end. So we continued out build. This last month has been hazy with everything but I will summarize. Jon was our supervisor, and we really got responses from him. But in the last 3 weeks of the build, he was moved to another area!! Not sure if it has something to do with the other reports, but interesting non the less. 3 points that I would like to make. 1. Schedules....Hobert would NEVER keep their end of the schedule. Linda would call to tell us something was going to happen and when, they didn't show. We got very used to this. We had to continually call on Linda to see when and where they would be next. 2. Sprinkler system reroute. We were quoted $750 to have this reinstalled and rerouted by a "HOBERT" contractor. He works with them on all their yards. He informed me when I called him that this was an excellent deal and that we were getting a price break. We called the Blue Haven guy (the one we tried to see about finishing the pool) and asked him if he had a sprinkler guy. We got a call the next day and was quoted $450 to do the same job!! So much for a "HOBERT" discount. 3. Payment....WE all know that payments are split into 4 checks. We had to call them and ask where they wanted us to put the gunite check. This was a week after the gunite was done. 3 days prior to plaster, Linda calls me and tells us we have to pay them before they finish (in the contract) I explained to her that the financing contract specifies that we have 30 days from completion to pay. Evidently, this isn't so!! So we payed, and they came. Finally, we had to have additional electrical work done. When they came out to turn on the pool (full of water). The system didn't come on!! Found out, they didn't finish the job. Another "HOBERT" contractor!! Also, in hindsite, Hobert's sales team is in much need of some training. On several occasions I was informing the sales guy about his equipment!! Also, I would like to give some kuddos to Mitch at Blue Haven Pools (Mgr) he has been on the phone and very helpful during this process. He has been forthcoming with information and our choices!! Very upfront and I commend him for this. If we build another pool, Blue Haven would get this business. I would love to talk to anyone that would like a referral for Hobert. We are very open and honest about this.

Jennifer, Were you able to have your pool completed? As you can see from what I've posted on this site, we have had multiple problems with Hobert. How did you finally resolve it? If you were able to resolve the problems, how has it been since the pool is finished? Are there any new problems? We are still waiting for answers from Mr. Hobert Murphy and cannot believe the incredibly poor construction and service. If you have any suggestions, we'd appreciate it.
