The primary purpose of writing this report is so that I can contact some of the other contributors. The Rip-Off Report requires that you file a complaint before they will give out email addresses. I too am a distributor for Holiday Ink. That is their new name; changed recently as has their address. They say it is because they needed more space. I think they are hiding.

It became clear to me soon after becoming a distributor, that this isn't the big opportunity that they represented. I was told a lot of "untruths". Unfortunately, you don't know that you have been lied to until after becoming a distributor.

The name of Andrew Deveau appears in one of the complaints against this company. This is my opinion but I don't think that he works directly for Holiday Ink. I believe they are a marketing company whose sole purpose is to sell distributorships. Their profit is the difference between to cost of the distributorship and the actual cost of the product and supplies. Some of the things I was told that aren't true are: All cartridges are new!! Not true.

They have multiple distribution centers, including one on the east coast so my orders would be received in two day. Not true. There is only one distribution point on the west coast and orders take at least a week and backorders take forever.

There are many more. I am fortunate that I got into this business with only three displays.

The other complaints I have read about Holiday Ink are all true. Communicatons are non-existent. Orders are mis-processed. I had to place an order 4 times before it was shipped. There is virtually no support after becoming a distributor. Of the approximately 60 types of cartridges, I have sold about 30. I am going to be stuck with 30 non-sellers.

I could go on.

My plan is to make the best of a bad situation. I will keep running the business as long as possible to try and recoup my investment. I have already found a supplier of cartridges that I think are better quality and are priced about 30% less than Holiday Ink distrbutor prices. I have found a rack supplier who sells a comparable rack for $95.00 so I may expand cautiously.

I'm not too worried about them yanking my distributorship.

If anyone is planning to try and make the best of a bad situation, we should try to get in touch. I'd be happy to share any information I have.

My compaints are similar to the other distributors such as orders that have been placed taking several weeks to be delivered and then they are not complete. After calling customer care and giving them a list of the items that I had already payed for but were not delivered with the first delivery twelve weeks later they are asking me for the same list of items I did not receive the first time. Shouldn't they have a list of their own of back-orders and deliveries. I also have many products that are not selling after five months of sitting in stores. I have recently learned of the buy back program where we can exchange our old product (which of course are new to me) for the best selling products. I've only been a distributor for about five months so my question is, "why didn't Holiday just sell me the up to date products to begin with?" I have found other companys that sell the the same ink products for less money and the same racks displays as well. I'm not ready to call it quits but I must say I'm not at all ready to recomend this buisiness opportunity to anyone else.

Chuck, Like yourself, I have become alarmed at some problems I've encountered with Holiday Ink. I would like to get in touch with yourself and other distributors, and perhaps we can find a way out of this.

WORK....

#6Consumer Suggestion

Sun, January 23, 2005

Like my last post, this business requires work. If you are looking for something that will work without you doing anything dont bother, this is not one of those get rich schemes. I would say that I have ran into some issues, but I can also say that Patrick has been eager to assist the best he can. I am sure they are making steps to change the image they are getting. As the past poster said you have to make the best of the situation, I have not turned my back on them as yet. Since patrick is working with me I will work with them and see if I can still make this work. I signed up because I thought the business could work. And until I see that it will not I can only try.

How are you going to make the best of this situation? If the products dont sell how can you change that? If the products are poor quality how can you change that? If most of the products you sell gets returned how can you change that? I to put the cart in front of the horse, my experience has been a bit better. I got my products and locations without any issues. But it has not been easy to sell these. Patrick has made an effort to work with me, but it is not easy to make money in this business. After the sales guy gets your money it will be hard to even talk to them to say hi. After he got my money I never heard from him again. If this can work, I dont know how it will. Keep us updated.

I am probably guilty of putting the cart before the horse

When I put my complaint on this web page, I did so out of frustration. I need to point out however, that I am probably guilty of putting the cart before the horse. I did not make enough effort to resolve my problems prior to complaining on the Bad Business Bureau. I was pleasantly surprised when I was contacted by Holiday Ink and they wanted to try and resolve issues rather than retaliate. For anyone who is reading these messages, there are some things you should do before using this web page. 1) Contact Holiday Ink. They will work with you. Use the phone or snail mail. I have found that email is too easy to overlook or lose etc. 2) Fill out a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They are easy to find on the Internet and a complaint can be filed on the Internet. They will respond to a complaint. There have been some complaints filed against Holiday Ink but they have all been resolved. I did this all after venting on the Bad Business Bureau web site and I wish I had done it prior to. 3) Don't expect this business to be easy money. Nothing is but we all got into this because we saw potential and I still believe there is an opportunity here.
