If you hire people to do work for you and you know in advance that the dumpster is going to be delivered between 7am and 7pm maybe you should order the dumpster for the day before you need it. You also could have tried harder to find a local hauler with a smaller delivery window. The way these outsourcing companies work is they have indepenent haulers in almost every city accross the country, Oakleaf is the largest waste outsourcer, the independent hauler makes less money hauling for oakleaf than hauling directly for you. As for the wieght the local hauler probably is to blame. They do what is called a haul plus tonnage, which means when they pick up your dumpster Oakleaf is charge a base rate every time, lets say $180 dollars. When they take it to the landfill they charge Oakleaf to dispose of your waste, lets say $50 per ton. So if your dumpster wieghs 1.5 tons they can only charge Oakleaf a total of $255 dollars (haul + tonnage), but if your dumpster wieghs 5 tons they can charge Oakleaf $430 (haul + tonnage). Odds are your dumpster wieghed less than 2 tons and you should not have been charged any additional money, but the hauler had a dump slip from another customer and sent it to Oakleaf and said it was yours. Oakleaf is not going to take a loss, so it is extended to you. The $65 charge is unexplainable unless they made a trip and couldn't drop or pick up your dumpster. Hope this helps you understand.
