I Purchased the 24-volt Rigid cordless hammer drill kit in Nov./06. I chose to purchase this Home Depot store brand for one reason; The free lifetime warranty included with the Rigid Brand. The drill chuck and trigger failed in December, 2007.

I attempted to return the drill kit to Home Depot for replacement or refund in late Dec./2007. Home Depot Customer Service stated that the Lifetime Warranty would replace the unit if it failed within the first 30 days after purchase. After that time it would be returned to factory to be refurbished. The refurb would take between 60 and 90 days!!!! They offer no loaner service for the 90 day wait during the servicing of the drill, BUT they would be happy to sell me another drill to use while I wait for my drill during the service period.

I asked for a pair of scissors from the Customer Service and I proceeded to cut my Home Depot Card to tiny pieces. BEWARE of The Home Depot LIFETIME WARRANTY!
