Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I got an open account with this company about 4 years ago or so. I got it so I could order items for my customers and be able to stop going to the local supplier so much. All was good until April of 2004 when someone stole my ID and got access to all my open accounts. This company allowed that person to charge 25,000.00 in CRAP that I in no way authorized. I have been in contact with Home Tech since this took place and to date they still think the debt is mine.

In fact they sent it to a collection agency that is rude, wan't return my calls and at one point told me they would bring a lawsuit against me. If this happens I will sue Home Tech and the collection agency under the FDCPA for 500.00 each. Both Home Tech and the collection agency have one thing in common the don't give a darn about people. If you look at the big picture Home Tech is at fault here. Why would you send 25,000.00 worth of goods out to a location without contacting the accountholder. I fail to bring up one little point when I first got the account it was to only have a credit line of 1,000.00 not 25,000.00

I never called to increase the credit line so it should have remained at 1,000.00. That means Home Tech sent out items ordered from the internet. (HOW STUPID HOME TECH) If your a contractor please stay far away from Home Tech if you don't it could cost you thousands of dollars. Please tell other contractors about this companies big scam. P.S. their prices are so high they will cause you to have a stroke. ADI and the Systems Depot have Home Tech Beat. I guess the noame should have been HOME SCAM SAVE YOURSELF FORM THIS COMPANY DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. THEY LIE AND CHEAT THEIR CUSTOMERS. If you need a supplier I find ADI and the Systems Depot to be great and prices nobody can beat so check them out.

Why did you retain your account at Home Tech for 4 years?

I ask because you included: "P.S. their prices are so high they will cause you to have a stroke. ADI and the Systems Depot have Home Tech Beat." Do your terms & conditions state that Home Tech "is not in any way liable" if someone uses your account documents to rob you? How is the purpose of the credit limit defined in your T&C? Was the theft some kind of an "inside job" (employee, prior employee, relative, etc.) ? If so, Home Tech may claim the entire affair was your fault. In other words, how might you have contributed to your delemma? Or did an "outsider" (not an employee, not a prior employee, not a relative, etc.) break in and steal your account information? In this case your property insurance may cover your losses.
