I contracted them to replace a sliding glass door. I asked them if the door required a custom order. They said no.

Then they installed a new door that was 3 inches shorter than the original and filled in the gap that was left with a piece of vinyl.

When I complained that this was not actually a replacement for the original door, they made several different appointments to inspect the installation and determine a solution, which they failed to keep, and would not return calls or answer email inquiries or letters.

Did not honor the compromise we agreed on

After agreeing to remove the door and refund my money, Jeff Fine committed to arrive on a certain day and time to remove the door and give me a cashier's check. He failed to show up and would not return my phone calls. As far as I am concerned Homeland Windows and Siding are nothing but Liars and Crooks. Avoid them at all costs or you will regret it. Burned twice.

Negotiated a Compromise

Homeland Windows and Siding has agreed to remove the door which was too small, and refund my downpayment. I am still waiting for this to occur, as I have purchased another door from another vendor, who has scheduled an installation. The Product line that is handled by Homeland Windows and Siding is very good, but it is a standard height that cannot be customized, although the width is variable. Homeland Windows claims that when I asked them if my door required a custom order, they thought I meant the color of the exterior, which is subject to homeowners association covenants. Their installation of the door was very professional, the door was of high quality, it was just too short for my door space. If I had to do it all over again, I would have a much more detailed conversation about the height of the door, I believe this was a learning experience for both myself and the vendor. However, in the end, they have stated that they stand behind their service and are committed to customer satisfaction. I will report again once the door has been removed and my purchase price refunded. I am the author of the original report.
