Hometown Rentals faulty equipment Ripoff San Dimas California
I rented a tiller at Hometown Rental in San Dimas. As I used it the tiller began to leak gas, oil and was smoking toxic fumes. I judged it to be a fire hazard and moved it from the grass to concrete. The tiller needs to be turned on to move which I did not want to do for fear of starting a fire or damaging the tiller. I called the company to pick up the faulty equipment. At that time he informed me that he was going to charge me extra for pick and to repair the tiller. I responded to that news less then civilly which is unfortunate and out of character for me but I was still catching my breath from having recently breathed in toxic fumes. Anyway, I will dispute the charge to my Visa but having read the contract I expect I will end up paying for repair if not a new tiller for Hometown Rentals. My advice for anyone renting from Hometown Rental in San Dimas (they also have stores in Pomona and Arcadia) is the make sure the equipment works before you bring it home.
