This company is a well know ripoff artist.
It goes by many different names - Horizon Travel, TCI, Travel Club International, National Vacations Inc, Sun Travel International etc.
These are all actually the same company, owned by a guy called G. Vavro in Texas. The keep changing names and locations because they get kicked by the authorities.
They are completely banned in Inidana. They have a $64M dollars judgement against them by the AG of Texas.
They are using the name Horizon Travel in NH ILLEGALY. That name actually belongs to a respectable company in Dover, NH, that has nothing to do with them. The real name they are registered under in NH is "National Vacations", but they won't tell you that. Keep this info in mind in case you want to sue them or something. My small claims complaint got kicked off because of this. I will have to re-file.
EVERYTHING they tell you in their presentation is a LIE. Even the company name.
The "deals" they are selling are hundreds of bucks more expensive then travelocity on a bad day.
Wikipedia actually has a page on this company, that explains that they do all their bookings through online websites, like expedia and travelocity, and they tell you these are "member only" deals for which you had to pay thousands bucks up-front.
THE CURISE/TRIP/FREE GAS or whatever they promise you for sitting through their presentation is A SCAM too. You have to pay a few hundred as a deposit, that they promise to return to you after you travel... but the bottom line is, you probably won't - the cruise for example is only valid September through December, you have to pick 3 dates at least a month apart from each other, a full week away from any holiday, and not a Friday, Monday or a weekend. Even if you can come up with a three dates like that on which you are willing to travel, don't hold your breath - they won't be available.
I WENT TO THEIR OFFICE TODAY, with some info on the company I got off the internet. It was a slow day - only saw four families coming in. Three turned around after listenting to me. One did go in, but did not buy anything, and thanked me on the way out.
They called the police on me, but the police officer said I can picket all I want as long as I am in the public way, and on on their parking lot, and so I did.
It was very satisfying experience to see their desperate glances at we from the windows.
I AM GOING AGAIN NEXT SATURDAY, 12/08/2006.
I'll have a sign this time, so that I don't have to flag the incoming cars down.

Post a rebuttal here to hook up. I'll check this site daily. If you know this company, or were ripped-off by it like me and many others, please, respond, come with me to picket them. I want to see their faces when they see a crowd of people there.
Maybe, we will not get our money back this way, but I promise you, it will be VERY SATISFYING.

i TRIED THE # IN MY PACKETT AND IT IS DISCONNECTED. DD THEY CLOSE? ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL AS i WAS SUPPOSED TO RECIEVE A 1000.00 CHECK FROM THEM. i CALL THE 877 NUMBER BUT THEY CLAIM THAT THEY ARE TCI AND NOT RELATED / DOING BUSIN4ESS WITH HORIZON TRAVEL ANY MORE. HELP PLEASE i WANT TO NAIL THESE SUCKERS WITH A LAW SUIT!

12/31/2006 Hello, as noted in a rip off report that I have filed on this website, I too have been a victim of Horizon Travel. However, I would be interested in hearing back from Max regarding any luck he has had in picketing Horizon. My husband and I are willing to picket also (at the Salem, NH office) and would like to coordinate our efforts. I am not sure if this is the way to respond back to a report but thought I would try anyway. Thanks for your information
