I used hotels.com to book four nights at a motel.  We ended up staying only 3.  The motel was willing to offer a refund until they saw I booked it through hotels.com.  I have contacted hotels.com by phone, email and chat over a dozen times and they lead me to believe I would eventually get my refund but they had to check with the motel.  Today I was told that it's their policy not to refund my money.  The motel would have given me my money back if I booked directly.  Hotels.com is a ripoff.

Loan sharks, seedy car dealers and our government  legally rip people off everyday.  I'm just saying Hotels.com is no better.  The motel was very willing to resolve this but couldn't because hotels.com was involved.  Hotels.com Go to Facebook's hotels.com page.  I am surely not the only one feeling "ripped off."  In my case, I was lied to, ignored and given the run around.  That may not be considered a rip off but is certainly not the way to do business.

The hotels.com cancellation policy states, "To cancel without incurring hotel penalties, remember, you need to complete your hotel cancellation prior to the time and date listed in the hotel cancellation penalty in your itinerary."

You agreed to the terms of the policy when you booked your reservation, therefore you were not ripped off.
