While looking for a bigger refrigerator on Craigslist, I came across an add from HWR.  I went to see the selection of refrigerators and was assisted by Mgr Tabitha.   I should have ran after her rude racist comments toward her male Hispanic employees.  Tabitha, being fluent is Spanish, begins to order them around quite demandingly in Spanish.  i mentioned "wow, your fluent in Spanish.?"  She proceeds to say in front of the guys "well I had to learn since these f'rs won't learn how to speak English!"  She carries on about how "they" come over here and won't even try to learn the language.  I was more embarassed that they could hear her and I was extremely unforcomfortable and didn't want the guys to think that I was in agreement with that conversation.  Moving on,  I paid the asking price of $225 and requested delivery.  She wrote up my receipt and stuffed the money in her bra.  I asked if I can sell them my smaller, yet much newer  and cleaner refrigreactor and she said that we would work out a trade.  No delivery cost and they will remove my frig upon delivery and I agreed. I was pretty please at the added size but 3 days later saw 2 cockroaches.  That was the beginning of more to come.  I immediately called the exterminator first, then Tabitha to remove this from our home.  The exterminator visit revealed several more roaches as he moved the refrigerator and I was completely horrified.  They sent a driver 7hr later to pick it up at which point we had moved it outside.  For the next two days, I went up to the warehouse to get a refund.  Not only did I trade them a perfectly clean, working refrigerator, they now have their old one back with my money.  On the third day I was finally able to see Tabitha face to face and she  rudely stated that I took the risk of buying used from them.  She also stated that they don't do refunds but she'd give me another refrigerator.  I replied that they have a roach problem and that it would be insane to place another one of their roach infested refrigerators in my home.  I must now have several treatments in my home to ensure that all the roaches are gone.  There were no signs that stated "no refund" nor did it make mention on my sales receipt.  She was very unapologetic and should no empathy to the roach problem that her product has caused.  Each treatment is $100.

The Unusual Rip-off is that they advertise online "Appliances" with photos and a contact #.  No company name online or at the location.  The contact # is the cell phone of Tabitha.  When you try to find information on this compan, none is found except for Ripoff Reports and complaints with the BBB.  Let's hold them accountable! Let's expose them and warn others of the problem that they may invite into their homes if they purchase any appliances from this company.  My next call is to Take it to Aiken and then the Atty General.

One-year later has either fogged your memory or you just decided to fabricate the story in hopes to portray me (the new customer) as some angry crazy person. I find this sad but also laughable! First, if you decide to lie, do a little research. My husband and I aren't even old enough to have ever been affiliated with Black Panthers --- this is a really odd lie. Secondly, I am well versed and I certainly have a higher educational level than the person whom I was in contact with. That situation was so horrifying that I would never accept a replacement from this location! Are you kidding me! In fact, I have made it my mission to inform people to never buy from your site or any used appliance site as I myself had to learn the hard way. What makestrel this worst when these things happen is the attempt at "damage control" instead of doing the right thing and taking responsibility. Nice try with this story you made up though....I got a good chuckle at your predictably!#buyherebuyroaches

Every refrigerator we sell is clean and plugged in cold for the customer to inspect before purchase. So this is all a load of ..... 1) she may have saw a roach. Dosnt mean it came with the refrigerator. 2) I did let her exchange the refrigerator, to please her as a customer. 3) this lady came talking about her husband was a black panther and all that mess. I really don't care. And I told her that. SHITE smells like Shite. It amazes me how some people think that yelling and screaming demands is going to get me or anyone else scared. I don't react to bad actions.

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to share your input and advice.  With the assistance of the HPD, who assisted me during my visit, she (Tabitha) stated that there would be no refund and was written in his report.  My proof of purchase is my receipt showing cash payment, amount, trade agreement, date of sale and sales persons name.  This post is an account of my experience - completely legal by the way.  Agreed, the amount is small, but when done to several consumers, their gain is greater!  My efforts to rectify this ordeal and to FORWARN others is the whole purpose behind this website, in which I am so grateful for And whole heartily support.  I for one am not comfortable being taken advantage of or being victim -- doesn't work at for me.  Thank you again and I greatly appreciate your advice!

 Unfortunatly YOUR only option is small claims court. Now Im going to break it down for you, YOU may not like it but it IS information. The problem is that YOU purchased a USED appliance. YOU did what was more commonly known as a hand shake deal. Meaning there is NOTHING in writting. Then to top it all off, YOU PAID CASH!!!! So NO PAPER TRAIL!!!!In America there is the presumption of INNOCENCE!! Which means YOU will have to prove THIER GUILT!!! YOU paid cash, You have ZERO proof of a transaction reversal. So the information YOU have is THEY sold YOU an appliance. YOU will ONLY have YOUR WORD that THEY didnt give YOU a refund. At THAT POINT its a HE SAID?SHE SAID kinda issue. No judge is going to get in between THAT!!! Since the amount is basically so small the only option is small claims court OR drop it. Now I would only advise YOU that YOU have to determine what this situation is worth to YOU. IS it WORTH the time and headache to battle this out in court? Is YOUR vengence WORTH the time and effort that its going to take?? Once YOU have determined IF this is worth it to you, THEN you can make the choices needed. Just keep in mind that because YOU used a media outlet such as Craigs List and YOU paid in CASH YOU will have a uphill battle the entire way. All this person has to do to foil YOU is to claim that YOU are lying. That YOU are doing this because its Tuesday and Apples taste better on yellow napkins or whatever it is that this crazy person is going to say. The choice is YOURS. I just warn YOU that what YOU have done here IS ilegal. Its called DEFAMATION and despite what YOU may think. YOU DO NOT have the right to badmouth an individual on a media outlet like the web. THIS SITE is NOT FACEBOOK!!!!! What you write can cost YOU more then the original incident. YOU have given this person YOU have a problem with a BUILT IN counter suit!!!
