When I contacted Hughes Net for an ISP I was told that it would be fine to stream Netflix. The lady told me that even if you go over your data limit that it will still be able to stream on a single device. When it was installed it would hardly check my e-mail. I spent hours on the phone trying to figure it out after two and a half months they finaly sent a tech out who, was the only friendly one I've dealt with from them. He discovered that the original installer didn't set it up rite.

They talked me into purchasing the equipment for $400 in order to get a $200 rebate and a free install, however, When I called, after two months of waiting on the rebate, they didn't know about the rebate and finally told me that I waited to long to file for the rebate. Then, after three months of going over my limit trying to check my e-mail it kept going over the data limit and slowing to a crawl that made dial-up seem fast.

They finally sent a tech how got it working and was honest enough to tell me they screwed up the install. I reported it to the company and asked them if they could make it right, after all almost $60 a month and I could not even pull up my e-mail and didn't get the rebate. The good installer even told me to look into Exeed internet (Hughes nets competition) in his words "Just because I work for them don't mean I like em, I even have Exeed at my house" in my opinion thets pathetic. 

Bottom line...I spent $400 for the equipment $62 a month with no service for the first three month, and every time I called which was weekly all they tried to do was sell me restore token which I didn't buy. My girlfriend only has 2 more weeks of her online classes and they are gonna be comming out here to talk this back and Exeed is gonna be out here to set theirs up. $400 for equipment, $50 for an install fee that wasn't supposed to be there and about $180 in three months of service that didn't even work and they even tried to charge me for the tech to come fix there mistake. 

I have tried repeatedly to get them to compensate me for all this...stuff...they have put me through and nothing, they're sorry but there's nothing they can do about it...REALLY! My girlfriend even had to start one term over because she couldn't get online that's another $2,200 in student loans. 

I'm not looking to fight them in any big court battle because I'm just sick of dealling with them I am just gonna cutt my losses and go. Alltho if I can help stop them from ripping people off please contact me I'll do what I can to help I really believe thet they should be closed down for good and that they should atleast compensate for their mistakes and actually inform you of the service they are going to provide. I thought it was a law. Afterall if I was hired to roof a house and I say ya no prob we can roof it and then show up and hang gutters and call it done I'd be expecting to get in some kinda trouble.

My name is Trinton Bryant and I don't care if this offends anyone or not. If your getting good service from them then you're VERY lucky but sofare I have not found one happy hughes net customer and in this area, middle of corn field IA, that has had a good experience with this company and even the Rural Electric Co-op stopped offering them now they offer Exeed.

I'm not the best writer but don't discard me for that I am really just trying to do my part and keep anyone else from having this experience.
