They pull people into their hard to cancel contracts with claims of high speed access and if you just download a LITTLE bit of data, that may be true, but then their "FAP" kicks in and throttles you back to probably less than dial-up for at least 24 hours.
"FAP" (their term is "Fair Access Policy") essentially is used to try to control network overload as the satellite is hopelessly over-subscribed. It's a sneaky end run to cheat their customers out of what they believe they signed up for.
A tin can and string hook up would possibly perform better than Hughes Net.
It's got to be the most aggravating, disappointing, Ripoff service of them all.
