I was signed by the owner of Icon Models Riz Paradiso after some research and a post on Cragislist I came to know that he is a Pakistani and his real name is Rizwan Bhatti. He told me right away that he wanted to sign me. Then I was asked questions, like who supports me financially, how would I take care of the funds for my pictures etc. Good scammers like Icon Models look, in most respects, like legitimate agencies. They do all the things to convince models to give them money for no good purpose.

I have spent more than 1,000 dollars in horrible pictures, that I can't use even for personal purposes and they wanted me to spend more. I have been with them for almost a year, got no work, not even a call in regards to any auditions.

That's a scam. Not a true agency.

I used the money I had saved for my school fee to pay them & got nothing and I saw him driving a driving a black Mercedes Benz in Toronto.

Please don't even think about joining them. I know a few other models that have had a similar experience. Icon is one of the worst scam agencies in Toronto.

Don't go there... save your money.

I know some other models who were scammed by Icon as well i.e. paid for overpriced photos.

With all the online complaints against this agency, as well as others for that matter, I don't understand why other victims haven't reported them to their local Ministry of Consumer Services.

In Ontario, the Ministry of Consumer Services can be reached at 416-326-8800.  Please call this number and file a complaint if you were scammed/wronged by this agency as well, as this is the only constructive way to put an end to such scams.

FYI, Icon is listed on ACTRA's "no-cheque" list (their blacklist of agencies), which speaks for itself.  Do some research on an agency before signing anything or paying them money!
