I found Iconic Movers from an ad posted on Craigslist that took me to their website.  They quoted me $65 per hour with a 3 hour minimum over the phone.  I explained I had a small amount to move, 15 small boxes, a bed, 2 lamps, 3 chairs and a loveseat, it all fit into a small room.  They arrived with a large truck and moved very slow, it took them an hour to load the truck, an hour to the location and an hour to unload a bed and 5 boxes to my new residence 17 miles away, the remaining items were to be unloaded at a storage 4 miles down the street.  The 3rd location with the storage was up a hill that trucks that size go up all day long, but they claimed the truck wouldn't make it up the hill and they had to drop off my belongings elsewhere, at their storage.  I told them I will rent a U-haul so they can transfer my property out of their truck into the U-haul and then finish the job.  When I arrived with the U-haul truck they wanted to discuss fees before proceeding.  They told me I had to pay a ridiculous amount that didn't match what was quoted initially.  It shouldn't have taken 3 hours at this point but that would be $195.00 which I offered to pay if they would just get my property out of their truck and I would take over from there and get my friends to help me from here, however they demanded I pay $465.00 and when I said that is unreasonable and began making a phone call they locked up their truck and said they were taking it to a storage.  I tried to negotiate to have my property returned, even utilizing family members who are attorney's to help me but they said they could charge $800+ because of storage but will settle with $600.  I ultimately said I would pay it just so I can get my belongings back but they haven't returned my phone call as of yet.  The license plate number of their truck is 7A236932.  My friend is familiar with trucks and believes they faked that it wouldn't make it up the hill.  It appears that their plan is to hijack property to have leverage to extort money and never actually do a moving job.  It's a cover for a big scam operation.

Iconic Movers, moving scam, they steal your property then extort you for money in cash to have it returned

In order to have my property that they locked up in their truck returned to me I had to pay over double of what I was originally quoted in cash before they would unload it back to the original location that I was moving from.  So I had to pay an exhorbatant amount and they completed no moving service and damaged my property in the process.  It was a complete scam, extortion.  I had a lawyer contact them but they balked at the threat of a lawsuit.  They likely repeatedly do this and get away with it because it's in the realm of small claims that people don't take the time to pursue.  If there are any other victims to this out there let me know.  I have a video recording of them.
