Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Ideal Homes was owned by bill alvarez, bob adamo and brian martin. they sold the company in nov 2006 to Dean rossey sr. and Gary Oben.

in dec 2006 are company ( sharp electric ) sat down with the new owners and came to an agreement that they wiil pay us through a personal gaurantee ( signed by oben) any past invioces in 4 equal payments starting jan 15 2007. we also agreed that any new invioces would be paid within 30 days of invioce date.

Gary Oben then told us that if we did not accept this offer and continue to work on the existing ideal homes contracts then we would be put in the bottom of the barrel to be paid. We wanted to stay as close to our money as possible, we continued working for them.

The payments from neither the promissory note nor the new invioces never came. We were originally owed $33,000.00 and did another $65,000.00 before we demanded some money. We got 2 checks over the next several weeks. A check for @ $9,000.00 jan 23, 2007 and another for @ $12,000.00 feb 2, 2007. There are @ 50 sub-contractors that are owed money from Ideal Homes. There are @ 26 homes still under construction with home owners that have paid them, many of them that have been ripped off.

The story behind the new owners is that they have a DISBARRED attorney working as their CFO and he knows how to ride the gray area of the constructions laws. They have done this with other companies in the past, 1 in wisc. They are trying to "give" the company back to the origanal owners by saying that they hid monies and debt from them. They did have 4 seperate CPA's do an audit prior to buying the company and signed the due diligent clause. It was a stock purchase which means they bought debt and assets.

Some of the subs did file liens on the property but all that means is the home owners will have to pay twice. Most of them can't afford to pay the liens. The are forming a group to go after the builder.

The 50 or so subs have formed a group that has been meeting atleast once a week since mar 19, 2007. We as a group have gone to the newspapers & tv stations to get the word out that these guys are crooks. We have contacted our local sheriffs office, economics crime unit, local state atorney, county building officials and the state licensing board but they all have said that they don't want to get involved. Misappropiation of funds in the stae of Florida is a felony. If the dollar amount is over $100,000.00 it is a first degree felony. Florida statute 713.345

Our company, the home owners, the sub-contractors are seeking to go after these criminals, even if we have to go to the attorney generals office. They should be shut done immediately.

For those of you thinking about using any of these people mentioned be warned, they will rip you off too! If you are a sub-contractor and want to come in behind our backs and finished work that we have started for them, and haven't been paid, shame on you. You probaly won't get paid either. In the sporting industry we call them SCABS.

Gary Oben and Dean Rossey own Florian Gulf Coast Homes and have the same finacial trouble. They themselves are not licensed to contract in the building industry. Yet they act as if the are. Look them up through state licensing board and the don't even have a qualifier.

YOUR ASKING THE WRONG PERSONS - SHOW ME THE MONEY!

PATRICK... It is my understanding that the genesis of the malfeasance started with Ideal and Alvarez, Adamo and Martin. They stopped paying the subcontractors and pocketed monies before Rossey.Oben took over and hid that from them at the sale of Ideal. They also issued false contractor affidavits to banks to get money even AFTER the sale to Rossey/Oben. BUT again, this shouldn't surprise you. I understand that one of the purposes of RipOffReport is to somehow set the wheels for pressuring companies or individuals to settle by slandering their names such as you have done here - in particular with Rossey. I wish Rossey would have responded to your defamatory statements; but, perhaps he was more concerned with finishing the homes that Ideal (Adamo and friends) left abondoned. The question should be put to Adamo and friends as to where they spent your money before the sale!

PATRICK (SHARP ELECTRIC) SLANDERS ALL CONTRACTORS CHALLENGED WITH CLOSING DUE TO ECONOMY

#4Consumer Comment

If one where to use the criteria Patrick (Sharp Electric) uses in his report on Ideal Homes, Alvarez, Martin, Adamo, Rossey and Oben as being criminals then all Contractors, Sub-Contractors, suppliers and/or anyone involved in the construction industry in Southwest Florida that had to cut its losses and shut down are CRIMINALS AS WELL. Patrick should know better since he is in the business. The construction business is and always has been a volatile industry. It is not uncommon for contractors and construction companies to enter into contracts promising the world at a competitve price to find out later while in the project that they underbid the project and are working in a deficit. I am sure Patrick has had its problems as well. To have subs and or suppliers lien projects is not unusual. That is why there exists mechanics/construction lien laws in the State of Florida. To protect the subs, suppliers and laborers. What Patrick experienced in 2007 was par for the course for many subs during that time and area. Sharp Electric is hardly a victim of a "crime!" Instead, Patrick was a victim of bad economy and poor judgment. Or maybe "greed!" Sharp, like many other subs in the construction industry, know the risks when they enter into a construction sub-contract. This risk is factored into the bids or sub-contracts. Some jobs are solid and you get 100% of the bid; when sometimes, one is lucky to get 25 percent on the dollar of an incomplete project. By my calculations, Patrick was one of the lucky ones since they received approximately 32% (of $65,000.00) of the job from Rossey/Oben. That was better than what they got from Alvarez, Martin and Adamo - NOTHING! My point is Patrick, that before you begin to slander the business and individual reputation of anyone (such as memorialzing in this website and any other media that they are "CRIMINALS") you should first find out the definition of "crime" or "criminals." P.S. It has been two and half years since Mr. Patricks slanderous statements and no indictments have been issued on Rossey and the rest by ANY law enforecment agency. Next time Mr. Patrick, chose your words carefully.

B. ALVAREZ B. ADAMO. B MARTIN DUE 2 MILLION

#5Author of original report

Mon, April 16, 2007

The previous owners of Ideal Homes are owed 2 million dollars from the sale of thier company to DEAN ROSSEY and GARY OBEN. They claim that they have not been paid by the new owners as well. The sub contractors that have not been paid are questioning DEAN ROSSEY as to whether or not he used our money for himself to purchase $800,000.00 worth of land last month. Maybe Bill Bob and Brian should question him also! This guy is a CROOK!
