We had one damaged item, though that was not the concern. The company insisted that they don't hire unskilled labor and they would send their own employees to unpack our things, unfortunately the driver told us otherwise. The people who they hired in here in Illinois were idiots, and broke a lamp off of the front of our new house. The driver immediately tried to tape the lamp back onto the house. The claims department only offered to give us replacement value - only 60 cents per pound of the broken item. Very unprofessional operation appears to be. Stay away.

Unless you purchased additional insurance for your move then Imperial has done nothing wrong. Under law, carriers are only required to provide you with liability coverage. That amounts to the .60/lb/article you referred to in your report. I do not work for Imperial nor have I in the past. I have, however, worked for another moving company and the option was always given to the customer to purchase additional insurance if they would like to do so.
