Over the past past 5-8 years the quality of the management has been declining. IMS barter is more concerned about making sales and growing the company than it is concerned about supporting 10+ year members. IMS is the middle man, setting up barter deals with thousands of companies all over the USA, and some places around the globe.  HOWEVER, unlike Visa... these "Trades, or barters..." have no protections, no guarantees. If the deal doesn't work as planned, you can lose ALL of your funds, PLUS you pay a hefty cash fee of 10% to IMS!  Here are a few examples, I have documentation for all of them;

#1) Approx 3 years ago we signed up to barter for a door to door delivery of an ad that we had designed. It was about $1000 or so. The company at first was not following up. Later on, they said that the ads had been printed and delivered. I know many people in the area, NOBODY got the ads. So, they provided a GPS printout of the delivery vehicle. Guess what? It wasn't anywhere near the delivery area that was agreed upon. They never provided a copy of the ad, nothing. A total scam. Had we been a larger company we would have just paid the bill and wrote it off as a bad ad campaign. I FOUGHT FOR WEEKS TO GET MY BARTER MONEY BACK, FROM A CON ARTIST!

#2) Approx 2 years ago, I purchased 2 vouchers valid for a flight, advertised as "good for 6 months" I received the vouchers and within the week, the airline ceased operations and my voucher that was "good for 6 months", was worthless. Out about $1500. I FOUGHT FOR ABOUT A MONTH TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THAT!

#3) the last straw... we had run several print advertising promotions. We worked with a company called Senior connection back in 2008. Ran a few ads,had fair response at best. We never continued the ad campaign. About 6-12 months later, out of the blue Senior Connection ran TWO full page ads at a cost to me of $2400 per ad! No contract, no discussion... apparently they were desperate and needed money, so they just did it and charged my account. Instead of IMS Barter removing a conman from their client roster, I left... they were not interested in listening to me, just interested in fees.

There are more examples, but this gives you a good idea of how IMS Barter operates, what their management thinks of "sleazy deals"...and the gross inaction by IMS to make anything "right".  Save yourself the hassle. IMS is a great concept run by a group of people simply more concerned about their paycheck than a happy client that has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars.
