Inoax.com Substitued generic for name brand products Ripoff Brooklyn New York
Something akin to bait and switch fits this company's operation.
It was a few days wait after placing my ordered via the internet before a anyone contacted me to verify the order. At that time the sales associate attempted to sell additional accessories such as warranties and other add-on items that I kept telling him I didn't need.
When the order arrived a week later, one of the items listed on the shipping invoice was not in the package. The big item, the camera was in the order. Only two of the three accessories that had been ordered were there, and they were both generic brand substitutes for the ones advertised in the catalog.
When I called about the missing item, I asked about the substitution for the Olympus brand advertised in the catalog. The lady's simplistic response was that the catalog pictures were only a representation of the merchandise and not necessarily the actual items. I was concerned that the missing item would also end up being a substitution, and asked during each of the four calls I made if the reader would be the Olympus MAUSB-10 reader. Each time I was reassured that it would be that one.
In addition to the camera, the other merchandise ordered from the catalog was an Olympus Compact Camera Kit, which included:
Olympus MAUSB-10 xD/SmartMedia Reader
Olympus LI-10B Rechargeable Battery
Olympus Leather Camera Case
Received was:
Generic xD Reader
Power 2000 LI-10B Rechargeable Battery
Digital Polyester Camera Case
It took two weeks for the card reader to arrive, and it turned out to be a generic brand reader. Worse all, it will read only an Xd card.
I could not find the generic items in the Inoax on-line catalog. The battery and case are probably comparable to the Olympus, but the card reader does not compare to the Olympus reader. The overall value of the generic items sent is about half the value of the Olympus brand items.
I got a great price on the camera but the aggravation on the rest of the order wasn't worth the savings.
