I purchased Motorola mobile phone via web last summer (6/2006). I sent all rebate materials per instructions.

The rebate was recently denied due to claim that service was stopped.

This is untrue. The service has been continuous since purchase (to this very day).

I have continuously used the same phone handset (Motorola V330), the same carrier (T-Mobile), same account, same service plan, same service plan cost, and the same person with the same social security number on the account.

The only thing that changed since fulfillment is the number tied to the SIM card. I exercised my legal right to number portability. At the time of purchase, there was no stated requirement on the web site that I could not exercise number portability.

I cannot accept additional restrictions after the time of purchase. Nor can I accept any claim that my legal right to number portability be infringed.

After 10 calls to the rebate processing center, and a similar number of emails, I have not received a clear response to my complaint. Call center people refuse to help resolve the issue, or to escalate the complaint to someone who can. In fact, they initially refused to provide contact information for InPhonic. I am now pursuing the complaint via the InPhonic website, but have not yet had a response. Stay tuned for further developments
