Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
It all happened within a span of two months. One day I receive this call out of nowhere around the end of March. His name was Devon and he was pitching me a credit card offer. I must admit he made a good sell promising me a visa card with a low interest rate no fees and zero interest payments for two years.

All that was required was a one time fee payment of 249.00. I tried to shake him since I was busy at the moment he called but he was persistent. The offer was getting tempting since the credit promised was a limit of 2,000 dollars lately money problems had been building up and the promise of some relief unfortuanetly lured me in. For some reason though he wanted a voice authorization this is when my red flags started going off. I was then promised that no money would be withdrawn from my checking account until April the 15th. Which is when I told him there would be money in my account.

After hanging up I started having some regrets so the next day I called the number he gave me if I wanted to cancel the withdrawal. I spoke to a women who assured me the transaction would be canceled and to put a stop payment through my bank just to make sure. April 15th went by and no transaction I just assumed after that they were a legit company. So I just moved on after that but lo and behold last week on 5/25/05 when I was on a business trip.

There was UNAUTHORIZED transaction for 249.00 I was practically in a cold sweat since now my account was overdrawn and my food and gas money GONE! Ever since then I have still been disputing the charges with HAPO community credit union. They refuse to acknowledge that it was clearly fraud citing my taped personal info. I feel like even more of my faith in peoples good nature has been shattered.

I wish I had not been so stupid. Hopefully I will get my revenge soon. This has really ruined my month. Please beware and get them back if it has happened to you.

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

I got my money refunded

After reading most of your complaints and filed mine as well regarding those scamsters at Integra Financial, I called this number, which was in some of your complaints, 1-949-729-1400 x157, and spoke to a Mark. I was direct and firmed with him that I got scammed and that I wanted my refund. He verified only my full name and told me that I am to expect a refund within 3-4 business days. Well, I called yesterday, 6/1/05, and I got my refund today, 6/2/05. He just reversed the charges of my account. Since that account, which was initially drafted is now closed, the bank put it into one of my active active account. I also called back that Integra Customer Service call center, 1-866-848-6234, and ripped them a good one. She told me that I signed up for a benefits package, which includes a credit card. I debated with her that I was strictly informed that I was going to receive a $2000 Master Card, which never arrived, since 11 weeks they drafted my account. She, then, played back the taped verification of my voice authorizing. After the tape ended, I again argued with me that the tape did not include what was promised to me or even indicated a credit card. When I demanded that she tell what exactly the "BENEFITS" that I supposedly signed up for, she couldn't tell me, she got irritated and excused herself that she has to answer other calls, becasue that was the 2nd time I called. Before we hung up, I again advised her that I was going to report this to the FBI, which I did. The field agent informed me that she wants me to put everything in writing and send to her. She advised me that she will add and compare my statement to other similar reports of this in their data base, and more likely will forward it to other agencies, including her counterpart in Canada. So, don't settle for a NO, and fight back and ensure you get your money back.
