I received my Qwest phone bill and there was a charge from Integretel for $15.74. After calling Integretel, they connected me to Optimum Voice, who advised that by completing a survey request for free coupons online, my husband had authorized them to create a voicemail service and charge us for it. They did have his information from the online survey, and claimed that by entering his date of birth, that he had electronically signed the request for service.

At first, the Optimum Voice rep refused to refund the initial $15.74 but I told him that this was a racket and I would not pay it. He told me that he would cancel it and that it would continue to appear on my bill for 1-2 more billing cycles before it would be corrected but that I would not have to pay it. No kidding!! I am not going to pay them one cent!

Words of caution: Check your phone bills carefully and watch out when you request anything online!

Hello. I received my normal Qwest phone bill, but noticed that my sister and I are being Charged for a phone messaging service that we never applied for, as we do not need one. The service charge is from Optimum Voice Mail, Inc. Their phone is 1800-339-6340. I actually had called a number that was suppose to be for OVM,INC which is 1888-296-8079, but when I called them to dispute the bill, they gave me the other 1800 number to call. Anyway, they claimed that my sister got on my computer and filled out a form for 1000 dollars worth of grocery cupons. They had her name and other personal information, which they claim was on this form, plus also, they claimed that my sister wanted the OVM service to try out. Neither of us ever fill out these sort of forms. Then only thing I can think of, is when we do Publishers clearing house from time to time, that her name and info may have been given out to a third party. Needles to say, we have a bill of 13.22 for this voice messaging, and no coupons, which we were supposedly suppose to receive via email, as they claim. I have very spam protection on my home computer, so we normally never get solicitations. Needless to say, I ain't gonna pay them for a service we never asked for! Why would we want voice messagin when we have our own voice mail recorder we bought at Costcos! Oh yes, I wonder if this company added any extra costs to COINET, which is my internet server. I wonder if there are other people in the same boat. They claimed my ISP is COINET, which is correct, but still, we never ordered anything! Sincerely
